Presidents Cup 2024

Xander throwing darts early.
Jason day in good form as well

Is the broadcast as bad as twitter is making it seem? Not that I have any doubts as to how bad it is.

I'm watching it. I didn't see the comments on Twitter, but I don't usually judge it until I see how they maneuver around all they key putts. So far, all the groups haven't even teed off yet.

That was a dominant day 1!

It seemed competitive yesterday though about 12 , even though it was 4-0-1 … all the matches were within one. Unfortunately the only reversal was the 1 tie.

I was at the course so perhaps a different feel than TV up to that point.

About to get to course shortly (on bus) hope matches stay close … I am cheering for the internationals of course, but hoping more than anything ot stays competitive.

what a different feeling on the course today.

Good to see the weekend will mean something.

Just an incredible and historic reversal. Can’t wait to watch the morning matches from the tailgate. Great job Weir and Co. game on

Watched today. It was a ton of "look at what happened a few minutes ago on hole xx"

Why aren't we seeing every single shot? There are only 10 balls in play max at a time.

our eyes would bleed if they had showed every bad USA shot today.

Miss every fairway every green, screw up chips and miss putts

I would funny if the start 5-0 and lose this thing which would be pretty easy to do now

And of course, some people thought Friday was fixed. Which isn't surprising, considering how many people thought Thursday night's missed field goal was fixed. Huge day for Vegas.

It's great having golf on at 7am, although it's a little cold and foggy. Some guys have hoodies and toques on.

UPDATE: They went into a fog delay. Could be up to an hour.

Morning fog in late September in Montreal, especially when the course is right off one of the bordering rivers is always a risk.

Its going to be tough to get 36 holes today..,,, its tough to play any later than 6:45 at this point. May need to finish some of it tomorrow morning.

If they start the afternoon session on time using the guys currently on the bench, then you know TV is dictating everything. Otherwise tomorrow will be interesting.

The matches today were closer than the final score of 11-7 indicated. Lots of swings in the final 60-90 minutes... at one point 3-1 for the International seemed like quite the possibility, which would have made it 9-9.

In the end I do wonder if mental fatigue for all the Internationals, who strangely played 8 players the entire day, may have cost them in the last 6 holes. Perhaps an error in strategy by Captain Mike Weir. Ben Hun-An had played pretty well the day before.

I do wonder if it was a strategy to sit out Jason Day on the Saturday round for health reasons, otherwise it seemed like an obvious bad call.

I'm sure US Fans like it this way understandably... but I think for the event long-term, going into the final day at 9-9 or 9.5-8.5 would have helped more as there is certainly more intensity out there than normal for this event (players and crowds). I think the recent International captains have done a better job in recent years creating an identity.

After a dominating start by the Americans, this event has actually got quite interesting.

US still has a 95%+ win prob -- but if they say only get 0.5 point total in match 2/match 3 it could get quite interesting towards some later matches. If they get 1.5 points in match 2/match 3, its all but clinched.

This thing could well get clinched by the US in the next 30-45 minutes (match 2-6) -- say around 4:30... US needs 3.5 points, and they currently have 3 points in those matches. But if they don't get it done in this match 2-6 window, it could take a while to get that last .5 or 1 point they need. Might last all the way to 5:30 at that point.

Close but had the US done anything late it would have been like a 20-10 score even with Scottie losing

Another dominating performance by the Americans.

It was fun to watch but as others have mentioned, there were so many commercials, it became almost a farce to try and watch it. This must be changed or they should just do away with this event.

An 18.5-11.5 score implies the US had full control throughout.
But US didn't really gain control until the final 5 holes on Saturday.

The Saturday afternoon matches were crucial... on the back nine yesterday the US had a 3-1 lead... and for a brief time the International had switched it to 3-1 lead for themselves, and essentially a tie in the event, but the US flipped it right back. Those ended up being the 5 or 6 crucial swing holes in the event,

At 11-7 entering today it became a bit anti-climactic.
