PROPS TO SETH

Yup, you're right. He sucked it up, put on an orange lady's scarf, orange wig after losing a bet and took it like a man.
Strangely enough, I was going to post the Gladiator "Are you not entertained?" line before, but this guy beat me to it.

those of you with a better memory help me out on this. At least Seth manned up unlike that ESPN radio who in 1996 said "if Syracuse beats Kansas I'll walk from Bristol, CT to Syracuse" and never did it.

To be honest Seth is really not such a tool. I think he does have a dislike for JB and and jumps on SU whenever they give him a reason to but I don't think he is an ax grinder. And he did man up so props to him.

Why do people get all worked up about what commentators say about Syracuse? A lot of people act like they are saying bad things about their mother. These people have opinions just like we do.

Go Cuse!

As another poster said, it was because he so quickly picked against us, clearly knowing nothing about Montana. This struck most of us as a guy having an agenda, and not an analyst showing some thought (which is what analysts are supposed to do!). It is possible CBS prodded him to do this, so that in addition to their releasing their "news" the day before our game which they hoped would spike ratings for the last game of the night, there was also the added titillation of the mighty, unethical Orange going down.

This. I don't get it either. What they say about us in terms of winning and losing means nothing.

Trust me. Seth is really a nice guy. He has no agenda with Syracuse. I do sense that he dislikes working with Gotlieb and may have thrown the Montana prediction out there quickly to grab some attention. Seth is a self promoter, but he needs to think through some of his picks before making such bold remarks.

No way! It was just him adding some shock value to sensationally commence the Madness, that's it. I find all this whining about Seth's remarks just foolish, to say the least. I stayed up last night and watched the ESPN College Game Day recap show at 1 a.m. with Dykes and Dakich. When it came to recapping the SU game, Dakich went on to say how many SU fans are friggin nervous nellies, negative, etc. uttering how many people ESPN employs around here and how they were talking about losing this game. And, the difference in general with say IU fans, and how they are so much more half full and see themselves winning it all.

Unfortunately, he is quite accurate when describing the typical SU fan, where the general perception is precisely the reality. Maybe those studies about negativity, depression, etc. are indeed causally related & accurate when it comes to people living (or having lived) in such areas where cloudiness is far more prevalent than sunshine. :noidea:

Or we have just had our hearts broken one too many times and expect something bad to happen around every corner.

Well, whatever, still more woe is me...which just further supports Dakich's and many other's general perception of SU fans...

i cant remember who said it last night but they called new mexico losing t the kiss of seth i about peed myself laughing

Of course at 1 am nobody other than Syracuse fans were still awake to see it.
