Agree, ped can be mistaken for pedestrian. So I think it should be the full pedophile state.

The only possible positive that came out of this mess is that Paterno was still alive to see what he knew could one day happen. That leaving those kids hung out to dry completely destroyed his reputation.

ABSOLUTELY. Its wonderful that someone thinks he didnt have anything to do with the cover up. Paterno admitted to being at fault. He was the end all and be all of the whole damn school..if anyone truly thinks he didnt know what was happening they are truly pathetic. He knew what was going on, he did NOTHING. He is burning in hell as we speak. ( im not religious but i feel like there is a hell for anyways )

Bees was being sarcastic. It wasn't a cool story at all, because there's nothing in your post that people don't already know.

The possibility that it was not Paterno's "responsibility" from a legal standpoint doesn't mean anything. We live in a society and it (should be) all of our responsibilities to help protect innocent people from predators - especially children.

Was Paterno evil? No, I really doubt it. Is Paterno the only person to ever look the other way for selfish reasons when something like this happened? Of course not. Does that make what he did any less wrong? HELL no.

Perhaps paterno wasn't evil, but I keep coming back to the thought that he would have done something had Sandusky been caught raping a paterno grandkid. So he might be evil, but his indifference borders on depravity.

And certainly paterno could have kept Sandusky from accessing PSU facilities, which he continued to have access to until 09? 10? when he was finally told to stop bringing kids around.

Never mind. Paterno was borderline evil.

The bolded sentence above is spot-on. There are very few things in life that are black and white, but not following up on this and allowing Sandusky on campus is about as depraved as it gets. It shows absolutely no empathy and a total lack of a moral compass.
