I am glad that he got a lot of due credit last night from Matt Millen, who did everything but ask Gulley for an autograph yesterday. He is a very good back with elusiveness, explosiveness, and toughness who I believe is taken for granted by some here and is one of our top playmakers. His YPC doesn't lie. Mcfarlane and Morris will get their chance next year, but Gulley (and AAM) deserves the bulk of the carries this year.

This x 100.

I said in an earlier post how proud I was of his toughness and resiellency in this game. Kid is a gamer!

Always liked PYG and am a big fan. There are very few backs with his toughness, agility and ability to catch on the run. He has had some absolutely great games for us.

Its great to have the depth and talent in the backfield that we do. its the one position on the team I feel pretty good about (other than punter of course)

they all need some burn, w/AAM being the situational power back, but PTG should be the lead dog, especially with the kid(s) at QB

not sure he will play sundays, but I hope so

I think there's a misconception that PTG is a "change of pace" back whose strength is to get to the outside, not run between the tackles.

PTG doesn't have crazy speed, but what he does have is shifty feet and fights his butt off forward for extra yards. He's a power back in a smaller body, imo. Not an outside the tackle runner.

The change of pace guy, the guy who can get outside to make plays, is Phillips.

Morris almost seems disinterested.

I'm pleased PTG is running so well. I am concerned about Morris though. Not giving the spark I was hoping for.

I love ptg. It seems like he has been with the program longer than Dan Conley was. We'll be sad when he is gone.

PTG plays hard the whole time and has some wonderful strengths and as long as Lester can limit the things he doesn't do as well he can have a heck of a second half. Loved the Philips end arounds and AAM usage though I would have preferred AAM in close to the end zone.

I know I've been wanting to see Morris and McFarlane run the ball more this year, but PTG looked really good. He ran with power and was making people miss. I have to agree with OrangeCrush22 that it should be primarily those 3 guys going forward. I can still see some room for Morris and McFarlane when we have two backs in at the same time.

I will eat crow as well. Up until recently I wasn't impressed by him at all but he seems to have matured and significantly improved his game. He looks really good out there this year and should be getting more carries.

Not trying to argue, but i struggle with this notion that he is just earning his keep now. I thought he has shined when needed pretty well going back to last year. He was never asked to be our feature back, but has contributed very well for a while now. I think his biggest weakness is that there are guys on the team younger than him that people are excited about.

Fans always get excited about the newest toys-West is another guy who has quietly had a very good year for us catching everything thrown to him, including in heavy traffic

I like PTG. The one knock I have on him is that he sometimes can choose to be "too shifty". There have been multiple times this season where he would cut into a hole and take 4 or 5 side to side steps as if you were doing a ladder drill. As our coach used to tell use, "make a cut and go". When he does this and hits the hole, he is much more effective.

You nailed it. He's being less shifty this year, running hard north and south with little hesitation.

PTG is an every down back in every sense of the word. He is one tough son of a gun. Imagine what he could have done without the injuries he has to deal with every season.

Improved his game? Ask Dana Holgorsen what he thinks of PTG's game.
