Pump the brakes on the BG assistants...

Oh, and one more familiar name I've heard is extremely interested in landing a job on the staff in some capacity: "Big Cat" Anderson. He's coaching at Nassau and also knows Dino a little bit, and is dying to get back to Syracuse to coach. That one's not nearly as likely as Acosta, obviously, but don't be surprised if his name comes up for a role on the staff.

From what I gather, there's a pretty solid chance that Bobby Acosta is retained. Apparently he and Babers are friendly, even if they haven't worked together in the past.

Acosta ran a real uptempo offense at Widener and his head coaching background will likely make him suitable to coach several positions. Look at Babers current staff. He moves those guys all over the place.

Good source?

Well, I certainly hope so, anyway. It's come up in general conversation with a couple people who I know have some connections (including one who is a good friend of Acosta's).
I hope so also! Would be great.

Pardon my ignorance who's this guy Big Cat? Cuse should bring David Walker back too!

Jek, you spoke of some bigger names that were a concern to transfer. Two I'm most worried about. One offense, one defense, even TOS has noted it's a chance. How are you feeling about them as of now?

OC, OL and QB will be Baber guys. Every other position is not a huge deal. Everything being reasonably equal (meaning guys can coach) we need recruiters.

Regarding the defense, just stay with an agressive attacking scheme. If he retains Daoust on that side that's a HR.

I'm feeling better overall. There are still a couple guys who are risks, of course. But at this point I don't think we will lose more than maybe a couple guys. I think Dino's hire quelled a lot of fears/thoughts of mutiny/transfer talk.

I believe that's former DL Antonio Anderson who is the DL coach at Nassau Community College
Correct. And again - it might not be overly likely since he's never coached at the D1 level, but someone told me the other day he very badly wants to get on Dino's staff.

That sounded vastly dirtier than I intended.

I agree it's only a few guys. I just hope those few on edge aren't the ones that have been brought up. They are key guys.

You're haven't already written an article about it, have you? >.>

Also, any idea how this may affect the recent de-commits like Robert Washington? I'd like to think bringing in Dino and his offense would certainly help.

Did Washington get his school stuff figured out? I hope so for his sake so he has options.

Forget about Robert Washington. He won't qualify at this point. He's almost certainly headed the JUCO route.

Pretty sure he is JUCO at this point

Ah thanks! Would be cool to see 1-2 SU alum on staff. Think we all agree OL coach is a big hire.

I just want an offense that scores 60 a game and gives up 0. The closer HCDB is to that, I'm happy with whatever he plays.

I really hope we don't go on the cheap nor do friends a favor. That model has gotten us in trouble before.
