Pump up the volume...

I was wondering about this. Glad they are doing it. A completely silent game is just not right and nobody wants to watch/listen to that. They want it to sound as natural as possible. At least increase the noise level after good plays but maybe restrict teams from adding additional noise pre snap. I'm sure there are certain decibal ranges they need to stay within.

How loud and what’s going to be piped in? There has to be some rules around it otherwise when the visiting team has the ball I would play death metal so loud your ears would bleed.

They probably want it to feel like there's a crowd. Thinking it will increase players excitement level and psyche?

Probably part of the mindset. Baseball is piping in crowd chatter/noise to enhance the environment. A bit goofy but with fb, this , if allowed, will be taken to an entirely new level with timing of when its played and volume.

I wonder how/if this affects how teams respond. Do less talented teams need the emotional boost of the crowd more than superior teams. So superior teams get complacent without crowd support?

Im sure the special teams will miss my obligatory “RIP HIS HEAD OFF” upon every kickoff to the opposing team
On punts, I like to wait until the ball is descending down into the opponent’s arms and then yell “FUMBLE!” It almost never works, but it’s tradition! Of course the fact that I’m sitting in the far reaches of the upper deck doesn’t help. Maybe the new roof will help project my voice better.

This could be a lot of fun. Use a laugh track when we sack opponents or they fail to convert a third down. Have audio of Devito calling audibles and play it when the O line sets. Repeatedly refer to the wrong opponent to make them confused and feel inferior. Record messages from Syracuse celebrities urging on the team and intersperse them throughout the game. Etc.

Sounds fine but I feel that when the ball is placed and the play clock starts the artificial noise should be stopped.

Dumb AF
I think it’s actually for TV. Sports are a lot more fun with background noise. Sure, they could add that in the broadcast, but I think there would be a disconnect between player emotions and the audio.

One of my “fears” is we let families only into the games and I scream something out like in the little league days and Dino has to scold me :p

Okay sorry this has already been stated, I’m sure. But whose family member are you?

Always appreciate your insight too. Look forward to your posts!

Why, does a real crowd stop cheering when the play clock starts?

That makes no sense. And technically the playclock is always running unless there is a timeout or a commercial anyhow.

When we are on defense and at home crank it up, just as if there were a real crowd there, and keep it cranked up. When we are home and on offense, I want to be able to hear a pin drop.

Nothing can replace a fully packed Dome with the announcers screaming into the mike while remaining barely audible. Nothing.

Good man. I make similar threats. Cheers!

I’m thinking of making a loop of me yelling at and generally threatening the TV that they can play in games to give the games an authentic experience.

The NHL games I've seen do this is very subtle and not overdone at all. I haven't noticed anything different for home or away, just some light crowd noise for good plays/hits and a little louder for goals and such. Enough to kill the dead air without it being annoying in any way, so I thought it was well done so far.
