Team responded to Hunt as well, kid looks like a player confident, etc. Understanding it's Wagner but there is no denying that he changed the entire mood of the game once he entered and again he clearly is the choice of the players. Well done Terrel.

And it happened at the perfect time of the season, too. Kid maximized his opportunity today, and will get the start against Tulane. Good use of these two home "easier" games to get Hunt as ready as possible for ACC conference play.

Im not sure why everyone is discounting wagner so much. I mean we did exactly as we were supposed too, utterly dominate. Can we say we did that vs any other FCS team we have played in the marrone years. We always had a game into the 3rd qtr previously, am i right?

I don't think so. We've seen Drew Allen's inconsistency for three games now. He doesn't look comfortable out there, and in general the offense seems out of sync with him at the helm. Yes, this was a D1AA opponent that was overmatched--and yet when Allen played he netted -1 yards passing in three series [admittedly, he looked better on that first drive of the second half he got back in for].

Conversely, Hunt lit it up and was efficient as hell.

Against the inferior opponent, one QB excelled while one struggled. Again. Our offense that looked largely inept for significant portions of the first two games suddenly looked explosive with Hunt under center.

Clearly, Hunt is both the more dynamic playmaker and the player who gives us the best chance to win games and get back to a bowl game this year. Nothing personal--I would have loved for Allen to be a star for us, but that just didn't happen. He certainly wasn't as good as I thought he was, and doesn't appear to have the chops to be a quality starter. Jury is still out on Hunt in terms of his long term performance, but I don't think that there should be a question anymore about which QB is playing better by several orders of magnitude.

One more thing about Hunt: if he ends up deposing Allen, he's got the opportunity to be a three-year starter. Very good situation for our program.

Allen's chances of starting vs. Tulane are somewhere between slim and none. Hunt will start vs. the Green Wave - book it.

I agree, Shafer seems to be reluctant to publicly state what to most of us seems so obvious.

And while I see what Go is saying. That's a sh!tty way to do it. If you knew he wasn't going to play, you could have been up front and he would've transferred, they would've got their scholly, better for both school and him, but I guess it's not about that.

I don't think anyone is not behind it. I think some are raising concerns because people are saying some really big things after running it up on Wagner. I will hold my judgement until I see him play against Clemson

I think people are missing the point. No one is saying he's a heisman candidate. They are just saying he's clearly the better qb for this team and deserves to start at least against tulane. I don't see how anyone can argue against it. Poise, accuracy, putting players in the right position ,scrambling and extending plays...I don't what else to say
