QB Justin Lamson / Portal to Montana St

I've watched a couple of Montana State's playoff games this year to see Lamson. He's played really well.

Dropping down, he really found a great fit for his level. He's a difference maker at the FCS level. I don't say that as an insult. Kid clearly made the right choice, and now he has a chance to play for a national championship.

"ya'll know what montana st graduates ???

Thanks to you all highlighting him I’ve been watching some of his games and he’s a solid QB. Makes good decisions. I’ll be watching tomorrow night when they play

Interesting game. A few weeks ago I would not have given Ill St a chance here. But then they win a few in a row and beat N Dak St and dominated them. They play in a tough conference and +355 is good money.

Happy for the kid and it's the path I would recommend for most kids ...but also why some of these lower level portal QBs Syracuse is recruiting should be looked at with caution. They're good players for sure, but the production can also be a product of big fish little ponds

Lamson should serve as a reminder that kids do get better with practice, coaching and game time.
Those who say that those 50+ kids who left never would have helped us should remember - our next QB from the portal is going to look a lot like Lamson.

I wonder how many of these FCS kids would be ok as long as the pieces around them are good. Lamson played for 2 FBS programs that weren't all that good. I realize he isn't good enough for the factories to want him, but I wonder how he would do on a team like the ones in our Troy Nunes era. He's not Eric Dungey, but he has better tools than a player like Nunes. Those teams had solid olines with good running games and decent defenses.

Mon st probably the better team.. Also getting multiple bad calls going for them so far. the Ill st coach gonna lose his mind

I don't think any of those calls were bad. The OT definitely deserved the unnecessary roughness. The receiver definitely pushed off, and that targeting was textbook.

Mont had a huge 2nd and 23 play with an obvious pick not get called

I dont think thats OPI. the DB cant cut the WR off ,yeah the WR tried to make space as the DB cut him off for sure.

Yes the OL guy had a PF. thats also ignoring the penalty on the hands to the head by the DT before that happened

I think the Ill coach was upset by the amount of uncalled holding and he even said it outload

Then the final drive Mon st got away with another illegal block on the first play. nice catch and run on the last play. though

Lamson is throwing well

the game should be 21-14 if that QB doesnt miss the wideopen td pass.

Mon St might win by 30 if Ill St doesnt get some plays on D
