I would guess that Brown and staff are doing due diligence to have a better sense of which QBs will or might become available in the portal at some point. This is another area where all the staff contacts should pay off. This is a key decision for Fran Brown.

I think McCord would be the type of QB they are looking for, if not necessarily "the" guy. I expect them to run a base pro-set offense with a TE (21 personnel). We already know they want to run the ball. The passing game will likely feature play action and a passing tree based on schemes to beat coverages. The QB will need to fit that mold - arm talent, decision maker, accuracy, football IQ.

Unless we use OG as a traditional WR moving forward - we definitely can run 2 TE sets as well with Villari. I'm still confused as to why Villari wasn't featured more this year prior to all the injuries.

Nunzio said injuries and learning a new position put Dan a bit behind in his progress.
Makes sense - he did seem to struggle with fumbles/ball control early on so I'm wondering if that was part of it as well.

I'm envisioning OG in the slot and Villari as a TE/FB hybrid w/2 WR.

Villari, OG and (insert weapon here. Meeks, Hatcher, young buck wide out, someone who isn’t currently committed yet. Etc) seem to have the makings of an above average ACC wide out core. Maybe I’m wrong, but I know OG is elite and Dan V is very good, and I think Meeks will step up and be a starter as we sit here today. All physical big guys, this has to be a selling point for Fran. I am under the belief that Fran has something cooking we don’t know about (McCord or another option). No way Fran is throwing his hands up in the air in regard to the most important position on the team.

Could be tep, he certainly hangs it out there every so often. He did seem to get better with more snaps though.

If Hornsby enrolls early, he's already a pretty developed kid. Put him in the program for 6 months and he has a shot to be a factor out of the gate.

I think Fran and co have earned the right to have some faith from the fanbase that he will have a productive QB room, including a productive QB1, when the season rolls around.
Absolutely, I doubt he would come here and pull top notch recruits and then forget the most important position in all of team sports.

Have you ever noticed when Kyle was barking out signals at tOSU he often said, “Adam-12, Adam-12?”

Now I understand why:

(I know. A long way to go for a “joke” on a football board that maybe 40% of y’all might relate to - so sue me.)
I love it and the board benefits from elaborate joke telling like this.

Wow !
I think the line in the show when they called on radio was: “One Adam-12. One Adam 12. Come in Adam-12”

Now he’s gotta go Cuse!

I don't care really if a QB is a running option. Just want someone who can scramble effectively.
I think all our 4 star WR commits would disagree with you. So much so they will not sign with us.
Why would a 4 star WR want a running QB or not want a non running QB that could scramble when needed?
Did you read that wrong?

Visited Wisconsin last weekend. A friend told me over the weekend that Michigan has prioritized him also. I hadn't heard or read this anywhere myself.
TVD is apparently going to xfer to Wisconsin.
Finn is visiting Baylor.

I think if the UB QB is brought on, it would be to provide depth. I couldn't see him as any higher than our 3rd QB. I have to guess we are waiting to see how McCord's visit to Nebraska goes. If he's still open, I think he's our priority target.
The UB QB wants to go somewhere he can play.

“I have one year of college football left,” said Snyder, who grew up in Lakewood, New York. “When you’re a guy with one year left you have to go somewhere you’re going to play. That’s super-important to me and it’ll be a big factor.

I knew there was another QB visiting Wisconsin but couldn't remember who. I thought Finn would be a shoe in there cause Fickell recruited him out of high school when he was at Cincinnati. I think TVD will do well there.
