Class of 2025 QB Malik Washington (MD) Offered

Could you imagine that QB room of Carney, him and Jahkari. Studs
If they all panned out it would be an embarrassment of riches.
But I don't think teams are capable of bankrolling or hoarding that much talent these days.
They'll transfer. It's hard to have a high level #1 QB and then keep a decent #2 in the wings in case of injury.

I think an embarrassment of riches for us based on recent experience is to just have a competent #2 lol.

Which in comparison to the QB depth chart at Ohio St on any given year just makes your head spin.

Looks like PSU is not interested and SU is still in the mix. I wouldn’t ask Murphy to wait though.
I was wondering about this given your previous post (#113). Washington's OV'ing on June 7th. We'll see if that holds in the event Murphy commits on the 1st (staff visited him en banc recently).

Adding either, or both, of MW/QM would make quite a QB room: stud Jakhari Williams ('24 commit) arrives in six weeks. Luke Karney, promising 4-star commit, arrives next January ('25).

From what was available at that time it looked like we weren’t on his radar. I wouldn’t hold off on one in favor of the other. Confident the staff will manage this well.

Ideally I'd like to see both, but with Luke already in the fold that seems unlikely. Unless we're recruiting Murphy purely as an athlete.

I find the lack of hype in this thread disturbing
Earlier in the thread it was mentioned that his visit is scheduled for June 7-9th so he is still in the middle of his visit. It is a little strange how quiet his recruitment has been on the board. I had the feeling that he was a PSU lean because he has visited them at least 4 times. GOSU96 has posted that Penn State was no longer in the picture. We got a visit so I have to believe we have a decent chance still.

Ive got little information on this recruit but I did hear the staff is still pushing very hard to land him regardless of Carney being in the picture.

Reminds me of our dreams of landing Haskins (rip)

With the portal being what it is. Not the worst pitch to say come compete and enroll for spring ball. If you don't like what happens we'll see.

Agree. He is currently ranked as the 207th best recruit in the 2025 class by Rivals. Has visited PSU 10 times. UMd 4. This is his second visit here.

Was just invited to tie finals of the Elite 11 completion. Yes, he is a good one.

Love Carney but you have to build quality depth for sustained excellence. When McCord graduates, there isn’t a ton of depth in the WB room.

Let’s see if we can get Malik. He would be a great add.

I got a tip a long time ago that I thought was about him committing. Like many months ago. I’m still not completely sure it was him though. I know it wasn’t Carney, but I’m not really sure who it was now.

So... is this guy better than Carney?

From what I am able to determine, they are both good; just different styles.
Fran vs Locks.
Say what you will about him as a HC, but he can recruit, especially in the DMV. This is a closet heavyweight battle. And we should all acknowledge, Fran is battling with one QB (Carney) tied behind his back.

Big if true
