We are in trouble here. Nassib neutralizes all of the good he does with crushing picks, fumbles, horrible throws and bullets 5 yards away. He singlehandedly lost the game today. Those picks were thrown in double or triple coverage. He had open receivers almost every play that he just didn't look for. He doesn't have the ability to make a play if his first option is covered. It's almost like his brain freezes. Need somebody who is the opposite of that.

I do not see any downside to giving Hunt or Loeb a chance. It cannot get much worse.

he feels pressure that isn't there, doesn't feel pressure when it is there. the guy is a mess right now.

He ranks up there with some of the most inconsistent QB's I've ever seen.

which one?

Nassib's brain does become overwhelmed and it is like freezing. It goes back to the fight-flight-freeze system in the brain. The brainstem senses fear and the limbic system becomes aroused. If the arousal is too heightened it overloads the cortex, and thinking, seeing, processing suffer. He is normally a very rigid personality and when he senses danger on the football field his brain flips and becomes chaotic.

Nassib's personality off the field seems very rigid. I wonder sometimes if he is open to coaching. Either way, Nassib needs to widen his comfort zone or else he will continue to struggle when he senses danger on the field. He needs to be very prepared and play with a better football IQ. And he needs to self-talk in a way that overrides the arousal in his limbic region and brainstem.

Marrone went all in with Nassib, and the pressure is on for Nassib to grow more into his potential because he's falling short and he has been for a while.

We aren't going to see a different QB under center until next season. That's the way it is.

Then the staff needs to get the kid a sideline fluffer for gamedays.

Nassib did not get the FG blocked. He did not commit all the penalties, some that put us in bad position. He did not miss blocks that caused sacks. He did not decide not to go with the jumbo package on the 3 with first down. He did not drop several passes including a TD. He did not cause us to try a 50 yard FG when it should have been a much shorter attempt. He did not fumble the punt (tho Rene was down). Did he make mistakes? Yep. But he doesn't stand alone.

Btw, that first INT it doesn't matter what other receivers were doing. It was a 3 step drop quick slant. You don't sit there and survey the field and go through progressions. The rutgirls kid did a nice job.

Give Terrell Hunt some snaps. Oh I forgot he stole a bottle of cologne so Marrone won't let him play this season. What a joke.

Marrone said at a luncheon that Hunt is on the scout team and is gaining no experience since he is throwing to a specific player who they identify on a white board. That's a great idea!!!

To bad our head coach finds its more important to punish a kid that lost both his parents in the last 3 years by suspending from the program and sticking him on the scout team instead of getting him ready to replace Nassib.

Enough of the life lesson, Fort Drum, and other bu!!. It's time for Marrone to start winning some football games or go back to the NFL.

Good post Bees. Totally agree about Rene's fumble and other than the blocked FG, the specials were solid.

I thought we won most of the battles at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, yet we still found a way to lose. Very frustrating.

Wasnt the field goal 50 yards because of Nassibs fumble? How bout the wide open WR's he either underthrew or overthrew? How about the fact that in a big game Nassib turned it over what 4 freeking times including his last pick that is flat out inexecusable.

We've played 6 games and have won most of the battles and lost most of the wars. How is that possible? Just by the natural rules of odds, we should have one at least one more game. We're -11 on turnovers. Is that a fluke?

Nassib does a lot of things very well. I like Nassib. He has issues. I hope he can improve his decision making. He turned the ball over today 3 times and fumbled the ball on the edge of the red zone. I think he has 7 turnovers in the past 3 games. The drive with SU down 8 points with over 2 minutes to go he throws a pick on first down when he had no reason to make that throw. He can do much better than that.

You're correct Jeremy...RN did fumble earlier on that possession. Missing WR's happens to most QB's over the course of a game so I can live with that. The second int and his fumbles bother the hell out of me.

Unfortunately, it has become a pattern. And it really sucks because we don't have a big margin for error...especially on offense.

The season is baffling. We lose to Northwestern at home by defensive/special teams lapses and turnovers, we lose to Minnesota on the road by offensive lapses and turnovers, and we lose to Rutgers on the road by offensive lapses and turnovers. I love this team and have a lot of hope, but we're in a deep hole. Nassib hurt us today, but the blocked kick hurt first and more. We outplayed Rutgers and still lost big. I have no interest in blame, but what do we do to fix this? Each part of the team has played well at times, yet we're 2-4, having outplayed our competition in almost every game. I want this team to finish the season gracefully and don't really understand where we're failing. Nassib has hurt us badly in a few games, but he's not alone. What is the answer?

The good news is the Defense. They continue to improve and play very well. The offense moves the ball, but shoots itself in the foot. The field goal block and return for a TD notwithstanding, the special teams look improved overall. I expect the Defense to continue to play hard and not quit. They have a chance to grow into a special year.

The qb/wr situation is terrible. None of the guys on the field are Bcs caliber players. Unfortunately the one guy with that talent doesn't see the field.

If I didn't see the final score, I'd be encouraged. It's a bizarre year when the offense that played so well early disappears and the defense & special teams that played so poorly early excels when the offense is a fantasy pick. I love these guys, but we need wins.

Totally. How could nassib possibly have not blocked the rutgers special teamer running right up the middle? What a dbag.

No, but you should probably have a better pre snap read. His fumble also came off of a 3 step drop where he double clutched it and didn't secure it.

I blame it all on bad juju. Doug needs to find a Haitian boko to expunge the foul spirits that are sucking the life out of this team.

Sounds crazy but I am otherwise at a loss to explain the post-WVU Marrone era.

Why hasn't ANYONE talked to him about the bullet 5 yard passes? Why? Clearly this conversation hasn't happened because it's been going on for THREE years

You sound as nuts as I feel...
