Based on bringing in to HS QB's it makes me feel as if the staff feels comfortable with Hunt, Flash, or Kinder as the replacement for Nassib. My guess is that Hunt gets the nod and is our starter for sometime to come providing the recruits an opportunity to RS , learn and grow. I do like that we are bringing one of them in for Spring ball. Still if we had major concerns i think we would have seen more of a push towards a Juco.

How does bringing in 2 QBs translate to "We already have a replacement for Nassib on the team." ?

I was just as confused.

First of all i was channeling my inner Cali when i posted as we had a little sore last night and KCSU set the woods on fire. Happens about twice a year but when it rains it pours! My point which i thought that i had articulated as well as Hunter Thompson on some natural man was simple in nature. The fact that our State Trooper in disguise brought in two HS QB's vs a Juco leads one very hung over and no Tom i dont dig Ginger Ale CO fan to believe that they have their next starting QB in the house. My money is on Hunt

Wow.

I'm more confused than I was at the beginning of the thread.

Inner Cali, outer Cali, and in between Cali.

So, you're confident they have a guy in mind because if they didn't have a guy in mind, they'd be bringing in a Juco QB.

How was this hard to understand? If the staff wasn't confident in the QB options we have then we would have brought in a JUCO to compete. Since they brought in two HS QB's the staff is comfortable with Broyld or Hunt. His money is on Hunt, as is mine.

why Hunt at this point? He missed Spring.. I think we have a quality crop, but you can't predict gameface (what they produce at the college level).. but if our staff thought these two qb's were better than trying for Boyle.. I trust that..

I said this back in October but I coached the son of a coach who is currently on the SU staff, and all indications were that Hunt was "the guy." Granted this was before he was caught stealing, but the talent is still there. Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember reading that when hunt was still in high school he threw for 300 yards and ran for a bunch in a tropical storm. Pretty legit on paper...

At the end of last season I remember hearing Nassib say that Hunt has all the tools to be a very good QB. From everything I have heard the team and the coaching staff is very high on him. Even after his run-in they chalked it up to a mistake. Most of them couldn't even believe that it happened.

That is great input. It is hard to follow red shirts from 700 miles away. I had the impression that Hunt was a good kid. He lost his mother to cancer in his senior year and it appears that he did a stupid thing that many teenagers do. I am not condoning shoplifting but there are circumstances here and I hope this embarrassing event will mature him.

It is going to be interesting to see how the Hunt/Broyld thing plays out. It is a nice high grade problem to have.

I wonder about the logic -- when Marrone and staff will go JUCO and when they won't. He has brought in JUCO help almost exclusively for the OL and the DL -- with Diabate (LB-Nassau) and Fisher (S-Nassau) being the exceptions. Cruz & Weaver were special examples as transfers, and there we went for size.

We have been thin at skill positions; not much speed at WR; no back-up QB in 2010 or 2011; thin and young at LB -- no JUCOs (except Diabate at LB).

Just have to wonder if Marrone wants to go the JUCO for playmakers.

I imagine the talent pool at JUCOs is not always very deep. If so, then all DM can do is take the best that is there to fill needs.

Thank you granted my post was a little long winded but im not sure what was so hard to understand

personally, i think the nickname "flash" is inappropriate, degrading, classless, insulting etc, etc, etc. and should be banned

Ok what do you want to call him Tip? Thickburger?

Of course, what Flash did to recieve such a nickname wasn't "inappropriate, degrading, classless, insulting etc, etc, etc."

Actually i agree. It was a joke to begin with one that i really felt was pretty harmless. I will come up with something new.

I thought it was "Slash" not "flash". And what is wrong with flash? D-Wade has been called flash as has pitcher Tom Gordon.

Tip has a problem because Ashton dropped is pants when he was pissed. I actually thought Flash was pretty funny and i doubt that AB would find it anything but funny
