Class of 2025 QB Rich Belin (NY) COMMITTED / SIGNED NLI TO SYRACUSE (12/4/24)

For those that don't know, Madei is a QB coach now but back in the day, he was also a quarterback at Syracuse.
Does Madei pronounce his name Ma-day or Ma-dee ?

Yeah I didn’t know what to think considering the offers and the fact he was a WR previously, but watching his film obviously there are things to work on but I do believe the concept that larger schools shied away due to the height is reasonable. He can play.
Mayfield, Caleb Williams, etc..

we can win with this kid. He might not have the prototypical measurements, but he is a winner. His arm looks adequate and his ability with his legs makes him hard to defend. I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting in a few years.
Rich is also really intelligent.

He is going to be an interesting player to watch. I suspect he will find a way to become a factor on this team.

I feel like speed and strength are more important in CFB if we’re not concerned about draft status.
Agree that draft status is less of a factor in cfb. That said, (unlike HS) he'll have to throw (and see) over an OL packed with guys that are 6-4 to 6-9. That could be an issue. Either way, he's a talented player who'll be given a hard look at QB or another position that fits his skills.

BTW, I know these are only highlights but Cardinal Hayes looks really good.
The only team in their league that had more wins this year was Iona Prep, who ended up being the best Catholic high school in the state.
I always knew there were talented guys in NYC and in Westchester County, but this is more than what I expected.
