Not sure what you’re getting at. My point was discussing Angeli’s recovery specifically because there’s certain posters downplaying how good he was and also believe that the injury is going to wreck his career which isn’t the case. The point being that he might have missed time this year anyway. Not sure how comment got on top here.
And this kid never started a HS game at QB! He played safety. That kid is going to get phat money, likely from a team in-state. He is really good
Wasn't Nassib healthy all 4 years? His freshman year behind Paulus and then his 3 years as a starter I thought he was healthy.
My point is that he not only has to get past THAT injury, he also has to avoid additional injuries. Some QBs are injury prone... even if one of those injuries is a fluke. Not like anyone TRIES to get injured. Cannot blame any injury prone QB. The game happens. But it is a mistake to assume that Angeli starts every regular season game next year, regardless of his recovery from THIS injury. Not sure what you’re getting at. He had a release point at QB that was apparently odd. He’s a terrific athlete though so I bet he finds his way onto the field. Was Belin recruited to play another position? DB?
I think there’s some more meat on the bone there. He didn’t even play 4 complete games and not really well until 5 minutes were left in the UConn game. I think he would have been an A or A+ had he stayed healthy. Why is Angeli just a B+?
Can we get that read in Dean Wormer's voice? So Fran’s QB recruits. Two categories.
McCord A++
Angeli B+
Collins D-
Carney - Incomplete
Belin - Was never going to play QB
Williams - Dino recruit
Filardi - Lacrosse player
That doesn’t seem fair to Villari. He has remade his body to be a tight end. Let him to continue to grow at the tight end spot because that’s where his future money will be made.i'm somewhat convinced Villari has the size , strength and skills to compete at the next level. at QB ? no friggin ' way ! but he has the talent to catch on somewhere at some position. my thoughts are put him under center. pound the ground game. hit the easy short options. i believe that's our best look to finish out the season.
For ND... I would start Collins... and then bring Filardi in if/when Collins falters.i'm somewhat convinced Villari has the size , strength and skills to compete at the next level. at QB ? no friggin ' way ! but he has the talent to catch on somewhere at some position. my thoughts are put him under center. pound the ground game. hit the easy short options. i believe that's our best look to finish out the season.
grow how ? blocking? cuz he aint gonna catch many balls from these qbs. showcase your versatility i say. That doesn’t seem fair to Villari. He has remade his body to be a tight end. Let him to continue to grow at the tight end spot because that’s where his future money will be made.
Collins 0.0.?Can we get that read in Dean Wormer's voice?
Wow... I tore my MCL playing football. I cant imagine continuing to practice and play. To play at the P4 D1 level with a MCL thats left the chat is crazy. If true hes a tougher grittier dude than he gets credit for.Got word today from a direct source that Angeli is doing well with his rehab and fully expects to be ready well before next year. Was also told he tore his MCL likely earlier in the game against Clemson and likely contributed to his Achilles tear.
It did look like he had a knee injury earlier in the game. I wonder it exasperated the Achilles injury.Wow... I tore my MCL playing football. I cant imagine continuing to practice and play. Angeli will be our starter next year, I think we need a G6 or FCS guy with experience to be QB2, we can’t bring in another guy who has not played, St Clair has thrown 2 passes in his very short careerHCFB needs to go back to the Ohio State well and grab Tavien St. Clair to be our starter next season. He's QB3 at Ohio State for at least the next 2 years. Hopefully Angeli will recover enough from his MCL and Achilles tears enough to compete with St. Clair in camp.
He came back at halftime with a brace on his knee. I've heard of folks tearing an MCL and not feeling as much pain / playing through it fine. Everyone's injury is different. Had a friend growing up tear it snowboarding but continued on the rest of the day fine. Had some lingering pain only to discover a tear and needed surgery. It did look like he had a knee injury earlier in the game. I wonder it exasperated the Achilles injury.
