I think the key numbers in the breakdown between the teams are the turnovers caused and allowed. They are error prone and do not do a good job pressuring the ball.

Sounds like Baylor will try and zone Syracuse with a not very good zone.

It will be tough for them to win this one.

Big thing in this one is to not allow penetration that forces the centers to step up and allow the lob. Chery and franklin are quick.

While I disagree with the poster going back that far, I personally think this is the worst team since the Donte Greene team. It's not slight on the current team just an appreciation to the squads we've have over the recent years.

Absolutely. This is the worst team since Greene; but since he left we've won the Big East twice, been a 3-seed twice, a 1-seed twice, made 2 Sweet 16's, an Elite 8 and a Final Four.

Agree with the general sentiment here, but I think this team is probably better than the '10-11 team was at the same point in the season and will be better at the end of the year than that team was. That team was remarkable at winning close games, which made the record gaudier than it really deserved. But it was a flawed team that really struggled on offense, especially before Waiters got going later in the season.

I liked the 10-11 team, KJo was great that year, Scoop was up and down that year but was solid, Jackson was a double double beast down low, it was Triche's best year IMO, and while Fair and Waiters didn't get a ton of minutes off the bench they were damn solid. We should have gone further in the tournament that year. Very underrated team.

Offense only:

Scoop = Ennis. (Giving Ennis the benefit of the doubt here)

Triche = Cooney

KJo = Fair

RickJ > Grant

Fab/BMK = Coleman/Rak/BMK (maybe a close edge to this years team.


I put the main minutes men for the matchups, Waiters and Fair were very solid that season at about 1000 minutes combined, this year we really don't have a lot on the bench outside of Silent G. (I'm counting Grant as a starter and the centers like one hybrid player).



Defense, wasn't even close, that squads defense was excellent, not 11-12 excellent but they were damn good.

Thought the same. Gonzaga came out like gangbusters. They didn't even play that bad 2H but Dayton just really got it going both ends of the floor. 7th in the A10?! Please.
