Our win at Boston College is a Q2 win now but very close to falling into a Q3 win since BC has a 135 net rating and the Q2 range is 76-135 for away games. That would change our Q2 record to only 3-2. Hopefully a team currently behind BC doesn't jump them.
Having just 6 total Q1 and Q2 wins doesn't seem that good but our strength of schedule of #11 overall and #23 for non-conference games screams rewarding a team playing a hard schedule.
yeah, a few things are saving us with what is not exactly a sterling resume from a quality win standpoint:
1. SOS and OOC SOS are both very good as you mention
2 6-4 road record, even though most of those wins are against stiffs, always looks good
3 The field is really really weak this year. 68 teams have watered it down, worse than ever this go round
It’s only 4 more teams. You can’t compare year to year. Records are not the same. It’s top heavy this year. Dump this season in 1992 and we are an 8 or 9 seed then too.
