Clemson fan here...
After reading on some of the proposals from the ACC winter meetings I took away that there is a push from your AD to have more games in the major cities in the South for recruitment purposes. Makes sense when you look at the number of high schools in the Atlanta and Miami metro area (more high schools in both areas than in all of South Carolina.) On the current scheduling format the ACC didn’t do you guys many favors as while your SOS is improved by being in the Atlantic the recruiting base around the teams is not very large. FSU gives you some visibility in Fla but pales in comparison to the amount of kids who would be watching were you playing GT and Miami every year. Note: While NC State is located in a fairly large city by Southern standards the football in the triangle area is among the weakest in NC.

Curious as to what footprint your coaches are targeting since joining the ACC as well as who are your strongest / weakest recruiters?
Also, What are the selling points (outside of academics) and areas to address for SU?

We have a couple whom by our standard are the "weak links" however are well known to be skilled in player development thus the reasoning for keeping them on the Staff

While we are still hitting Florida hard and to a lesser extent Georgia and some other Southern states, our coach staff has interestingly enough targeted the Chicago area. Main reason is most of them coached together at Northern Illinois for a couple years so they know the area well. Right now we have 5 recruits from Illinois.

The ADs desire has nothing to do with recruiting and everything to do with alumni and New York transplants

For a visitor you seem to have a good pulse on our recruiting. Last year I think we got kids from 15 different states and this year it's about 10 different states so far.

We seem to be going national for recruits more than most BCS schools. Academics is a priority for these kids.
