Question for the OG recruitniks

Ron Arrest and Elton Brand were both McDonald AA in 1997.

Both from NY, and from what I can find, had almost no involvement from Syracuse in their recruitments.

Did we ever seriously pursue either of those guys?

As best I can recall, it was St J's and the Dukies all the way, no real open recruitment for those guys.

We pursued Brand, but he moved on from us fairly early on in the process.

Don't think we pursued Artest.

I think Winfred Walton might have been why Brand wasn't pursued early on
