Quick— What's your first #1 to go down?

I think people are sleeping on Duke. I think they could win their region.

i agree, i would not be happy if i was louisville. duke with kelly all year is probably the overall #1 seed.

Realistically its Pitt over Gonzaga. That would be the only one in the second round I think could happen.

Great question.

I could see Zags this weekend, Indiana next weekend, Lville next weekend, and Kansas this weekend.
Since Gonzaga plays Thurs/Sat and Kansas is Fri/Sun, I would have to say Gonzaga as the first 1 to fall.

Are the #1's that weak this year or are the 8/9's and 4/5's better than normal this year?

I would much rather play UNLV than NC ST. Not saying we can't beat either and I think NC St could really give Indiana a run for their money. 2 #1's dont make it through the first weekend. Indy and Gonzaga

That region is sick. Probably the three best coaches in the country, all capable of going to the F4. And STL got completely hosed being slotted in with those three.

I went with UNC over Kansas, as did many others I see.

Which means that Villanova will beat UNC, and Kansas will beat Villanova. Those are about the 2 safest bets you can make.

Completely agree. hate them to death, but if they were a #2 anywhere else I would have picked them to get to the F4. I think i still might...

Absolutely no way KU loses to UNC.

I agree. We have such a great draw. imagine if we were L'Ville fans? The people on this board would be going insane. They are the #1 overall seed and drew the best #2 and best #3 AND best #4 seed (IMO). that is insane.

Famous last absolutely's. I've got hundreds of those over the years. I was right about dozens.

I think this tournament has more uncertainty than any I can remember. No offense to the wonderful women here who know more about hoops than I do, but this is the year of the woman who wins her office pool by picking her favorite color or favorite mascot in each matchup.

its like that every year. the only thing my gf knows about college hoops is that syracuse's color is orange. and she had more points than me last year in that espn tourney challenge. and I fully expect her to do the same this year.

It's just a bad matchup for UNC. Whithey alone is the reasons to stay away from UNC. They just don't do many things well.

This is the most unpredictable field ever. My gut tells me that Kansas can't make it out of their side of the bracket. They have four teams that can take them out. My guess is that Michigan comes out of there. Indiana most likely will lose to Syracuse. So they're both Sweet 16. I don't see Louisville losing unless it's to great guard play. Think St. Louis possibly or Cincinnati. Zags won't go down until they meet New Mexico or Ohio State in the Elite 8.

I'm not saying we can't win, but what's with all these posts saying Indiana will ose to SU? Isn't IU the same team that was the the best team in America for the balance of the season? Aren't they the same team that poses matchup problems for us?

I think it's more of a situation where there are only so many teams that can go toe to toe with them, and we just happen to be one of them. Normally you wouldn't expect to see a team that's a peer when you're a 1 seed until the elite 8 or final four, but they could see us in the sweet sixteen.

So, and this makes no sense but I think it's what is happening, people are saying Indiana will lose to Syracuse because they're playing a tough game sooner than expected.

yup. I think we deserved a 3 seed, and could have easily been a 2 seed. we lost a couple games when James got suspended, then fell into an awful shooting slump that coincided with our toughest stretch of the year. and even then we still could have/should have beat Marquette and lville at dome which prolly would have got us a 2 seed. I guarantee Indiana fans are not happy about a potential sweet 16 matchup with us in DC.

Temple takes out Indiana as Kaliff Wyatt goes off for 33 and Indiana goes 12-27 from the FT line. Nah, that would be too good to be true.
