Quick Question

I love it. Being out of town there is little chance that I can go to a bar and get a Syracuse game on when it conflicts with SEC football. Friday night guarantees I can watch it out at a bar/restaurant or at home if I want.

im ok with 1 or 2 as long as they are announced ahead of time

Can you call my boss and ask him to let me go before 5pm to go tailgate? Otherwise I like the Friday night games.

I like them if the good folks in the Athletic Department can lean on Parking Services and help out all the tailgaters by keeping the lots free of entitled grad students in the hours before kickoff.

Generally against it. The Dome is its best when its full. Fri night games have to compete with HS football

OK with it but I am more of a traditionalist who thinks college football games need to be played on Saturday AFTERNOONS!
(But who GAS what I think? lol!)

Don't have a major problem with then but as to personal preference I'd greatly prefer no Fridays. Kids always seem to have Friday night games. Schedule isn't out yet but there's a chance I'll miss our Fridays. Kids come first.

I don't mind Friday games as long as the date and time is established well in advance. This allows fans to make plans in advance. Thank you!!!

I hope everyone saw the announcement of the early ACC schedule. http://cuse.com/news/2014/5/20/FB_0520145949.aspx#.U3u72Cj3EuE However it left me thinking, how does everyone feel about the Friday night games?

Jason, does the AD do quantitative analysis on the impact of Friday night games? It's great that you're asking folks here, and I would imagine (hope!) there has been qualitative survey work done about it. But the answer is too look at data on ticket sales and actual butt-in-seat attendance, controlled for attractiveness of opponent, point in season, and quality of SU team, to see what the real "preference" is, behaviorally.

In the past four seasons, we have only gotten over the 45K mark twice, once was Clemson this past season, and the other was the Friday night game against WVU in 2011. Just my opinion, but I really don't think high school football is important enough to people in CNY to make any type of tangible difference in Dome attendance.

Jason a couple thoughts...was typing on a smart phone earlier.

1. A Friday night kickoff on Labor Day weekend is actually a nice way to start the season. Gives people a chance to still get away for the traditional last weekend of summer.

2. Friday night kickoffs during Jewish Holidays is bad.

3. Friday night kickoffs are better than Thursday night for traveling fans

4. Tailgating is really restricted in Stadium West and other lots on the Hill for Thursday and Friday games.

5. Friday night games seem to be popular with the students

6. Thurs/Fri night atmosphere >>>>>better than Saturday 12:30pm kickoffs.

Personally, as an out of state fan, Friday night games are bad for me.

Had I known the Nova game was a Friday nighter, I probably would have passed on season tix this year. That's 2 games out of 6 I might not make.

It is bad in the fact you have to take possibly a day off work...but it is the lessor of two evils compared to Thursday. If you live in the Tri-State you still can work a half a day on Friday and make the kickoff.

Hard to get away on the third day of school as a teacher.

I don't mind it. Lot better then 1230 Saturday afternoon. Really like the home opener being Friday evening. Smart moving that one.

I hear you...tough spot for you. What time can you leave? 3pm and I think you could be in your seat by the first TV timeout.

Pro Friday night. A night game always trumps a potential nooner, especially if it means more eyeballs if the game is on an ESPN related platform.

And a nice perk of Friday night games is that college football junkies like myself get a full Saturday of game watching the rest of the CFB schedule.

Lukewarm as an out-of-towner. Been a season ticketholder since my freshman year (40 and counting) and have only missed three home games including the stadium-less year in 1979. One a year is fine and doing it Labor Day weekend is optimal. That said I prefer a Friday night game to nooners! And NO midweek games.
