Quick Question

I hope everyone saw the announcement of the early ACC schedule. http://cuse.com/news/2014/5/20/FB_0520145949.aspx#.U3u72Cj3EuE

However it left me thinking, how does everyone feel about the Friday night games?
If I am watching on TV, they are great. Because I have to travel 3 hours to games and have season tickets, I hate Friday night games. (1) I have to take time off from work to get to the game on time. (2) Friday night games will mean less time for me to tailgate (3) I don't get home until 1:00 a.m..

With that said, I will still go to the 7:00 games but it's not as good of an experience for me. If I lived in Syracuse, I may not mind.

I think I am with most others here.

I am okay with them, especially early in the year. Should make a game on a hot day a little more tolerable in the Dome. The atmosphere tends to be better on Friday nights, people are a little more active and wild than at 12:30 PM on a Saturday (especially students). Tailgating is better for a Friday night game than a Saturday 12:30 PM game too. Tailgate breakfasts doesn't really work.

Parking is always an issue but more so than ever on Friday nights when school is in session.

I would rather have a Saturday night game than a Friday night game but prefer a Friday night game to a 12:30 PM Saturday game. That is the worse option (except for games not on Fridays or Saturdays).

Jason, does the AD do quantitative analysis on the impact of Friday night games? It's great that you're asking folks here, and I would imagine (hope!) there has been qualitative survey work done about it. But the answer is too look at data on ticket sales and actual butt-in-seat attendance, controlled for attractiveness of opponent, point in season, and quality of SU team, to see what the real "preference" is, behaviorally.

The research has been done and we have a better attendance on Friday evening games than Saturdays in recent years. I am just such a college football junkie, I've always reserved my Saturday's to watch college and Sunday's for NFL.

Hard to get away on the third day of school as a teacher.
I wouldn't do it every year but once in a while you can get away with. ( Of course Im in my last couple of years before retirement so I may percieve things a tad differently )

As a way way way out of towner, who is lucky to make one game a year... You could make that one game a year 5am on a Tuesday and I'd be there.

Can never make everyone happy, but it seems like you are doing a pretty good job at keeping the majority happy.

I'm sure cuseguy can craft a great excused absence letter from his Mom to give to the Principal.

As a contrasting opinion to many, a Friday night game gives me an excuse to take time off work. Double bonus. :). Just need more Cuse fans with government jobs, I say.

I love Friday night games. I love the atmosphere and energy in dome.
