A shame we blew the big lead, I wanted to win by 40, but I think they lost their focus up by 23. Nice come back by Marq: I have a lot of respect for Buzz.

Lots of missed bunnies by a bunch of SU players

Lots of crappy passes into the paint - at least they were trying

In hind, MCW should have gotten all of Scoop's minutes

Play of the game - can you say Dion's block and run out layup - yes

They got a lot of help from the refs. I don't care for Buzz Williams at all. He acts like a douchebag and his players are dirty.

Marq will always be a bad matchup for us with their style of play, especially combined with bad reffing.

Buzz is using the "Pitt defensive playbook".

That being said, we played our C- game and still managed to win. With the exception of Triche in the first half and KJo throughout most of the game, the entire team was way off today. I don't expect too many performances like this. In other years, today would have been a loss. With this team, they still found a way to win.

Marquette really came out and played physical defense in the second half. Cuse withstood the pressure and upped the defense themselves in the final 4 minutes.
You could really see the intensity of SU defense pick up in those last few minutes. It was nice to see the boys match the Marquette intensity...finally. SU will not play a team who plays harder all year. That was a good win. Not pretty but gutsy.

We are a better team when more guys get minutes. I think we win by more if southerland bad MCW get more minutes. Also Brandon should have played down the stretch

I don't know what to make of this one. It was a clusterfluck. The refs lost their minds in the second half, our passing was abysmal, and we missed so many bunnies it was painful.

I wasn't happy with Baye's play (cut him some slack though - he's hurt), but he had one nice sequence where he grabbed a board and a play or two later had a nice put back on a fast break. Thought that, and Dion's block were the plays of the game.

Thought the substitutions today were questionable.

Was a bout to post my thoughts and they are mostly the same as yours (except the hindsight point can be made every game about someone).

Team had a down night, except triche's 3 pt shooting in the 1H. the block by dion etc was so impressive. If he started and got the 32 mins a game he deserves he'd be an all-american. JB is making a mistake.

I'm with you on Joseph. I was shocked he was picked player of the game but he did fill out the stat sheet quietly.
I thought Triche or Dion would be the player of the game.

I'm with you, mantonio. In years past, this game is often a loss. We beat a good and gutsy team with far from our best game, and it wasn't even a nail biter at the end. I am not sure the playing time formula won't change some over the rest of the season, but at the moment it doesn't bug me as much as it does some.

Baye had two huge plays almost back to back when it got tight. The put back, then when he got fouled and hit both of his free throws. Did anyone think he would hit both or even one...I know I was nervous. I just wish you could put about 20lbs of muscle on him.

Tristy..nice to see you here...I agree about Dion...and Triche also...however listen to JBs presser, he doesnt think Waiters and Triche are as good a combination as either with Scoop...I think he is mistaken

Of course you are correct about hindsight. But I noticed that Scoop scored a MCW like 2 pts but also 3A and 5TOs. And given how badly everyone was at passing it into the post (especially Scoop), MCW's 3A/1TO ratio would have been the prefect antidote. But JB will say (as he did in the coach's show - thank you SWC) that you never know when someone will start playing better, and he is correct, and he won the game.
