7. Syracuse
Midfield strength jumps off the page with Sergio Salcido and Nick Mariano, although the attack may be the least impressive at Syracuse in decades. The Orange lost three of their top six scorers. The defensive midfield is intact and Nick Mellen spearheads the close unit. He will be surrounded by new faces down low. Face-off man Ben Williams (62%) and goalie Evan Molloy (54%) are superb specialists. SU plays Siena on Feb. 11 in the Dome, followed by Albany (Feb. 18) and Army (Feb. 25) at home.

Harsh comments on the state of the attack position but not sure he's wrong, lots of question marks right now. Going to be interesting to see what Bomberry can bring there having not played attack for the last few seasons at Denver. Lot of pressure on Solomon as well.

Has Quint ever made a remark about Syracuse without some backhanded compliment mixed in?

Quint certainly has taken a few digs at SU in the past but that's just his MO, he has had some good stuff to say as well. In this instance he's probably right but this group as a whole season to prove him wrong.

Quint doesn't bug me the way he used. Either he has gotten better, or I'm less sensitive. Hopefully, both.

I think he's pretty accurate here, and #7 is not an insult this year. I think we could win the ACC again, but both Maryland and Denver are measurably better than we are this year.
