11. Syracuse ‘Head, Heart, Hustle’ wore their throwback uniforms on Saturday as North Carolina made the trip to the Dome. Tickets were gobbled up like Dome dogs. Unfortunately between the lack of face-off wins and a porous defense, this game spiraled out of control in the first 10 minutes. Carolina overwhelmed ’Cuse in a blowout of epic proportions. SU was playing without defender Nick DiPietro and SSDM Brandon Aviles. The defensive unit looked confused, timid, unorganized and fell behind 5-0 and then 9-1 struggling to clear the ball and looking un-athletic in the middle of the field. I felt bad for goalie Drake Porter. Midfielder Tucker Dordevic was the lone bright spot. Syracuse is clearly the worst team in the ACC right now.

Otto is heading south to UVA this Saturday (noon on ESPNU) looking to win a face-off and make a stop, to salvage their ACC season. With their Utah game cancelled, the prospects for a below .500 record are real. I would expect SU is trying to line up one more game to remedy this potential situation.

Since everyone else in the LAX universe has their Conference Championships that weekend, it's slim pickins.

Maybe we take Adam Weitsman's private jet and fly to Utah that day?
