R.I.P. Jim Boeheim the dog.

Sometimes when you're feeling sad, when all you want is me
I softly sit and gently put my head upon your knee

Some nights when your heart does ache
worn out by tears you weep
I quietly lie beside your bed and guard you as you sleep

Somewhere far beyond this place
a land where all run free
I'm calmy watching over you
and waiting patiently

Some day when the time is right
your voice will call to me
and I'll come running like the wind
Some day, wait and see

////

Very sorry for your loss, JonB.

Love this. Thank you.

I just want you all to know that I am extremely grateful for pet owners like the ones in this thread who truly care about and treat these animals as family members. I know it’s devastating when they pass, but please try to keep in mind that there are people out there who very much admire you for the loving life you provide to these amazing animals. The animals you own are so very lucky to have you, and hopefully when the time is right, you can add another family member and share your love with it. Thank you all for what you do for animals ❤️

My father always told me, if it seems your friend, cat or dog is suffering let them go.
But I always want to be with them at the Vets when they put them to sleep.
I lost count many years ago of all the dogs and cats I've had. But I still remember most of the names some were repeats or close to
a previous name.
There are options now where they can come to your home. We did that and it was worth the cost.

Yup my little guy was put down in my bed, with me holding him until his last breath. I owed it to him to be there, and carry him out to the vets car after it was over. It was not comfortable, but there is not another way, at least in my mind.

Thank you for that. You are a beautiful person, and your comments make me feel
Good about the life I provided for my buddy. He was my compadre. So are you:)

We did this. And I strongly recommend it.

Yesterday my dog, Jim Boeheim, AKA Russ, passed away peacefully at home.

He was the greatest dog ‘Cuse fan ever.

Sorry to read about the loss of your friend and companion. When we lost ours a couple years ago, I just couldn’t see us getting another dog. It took six months before I started feeling like it was okay. We did find a rescue pup, and he has been the strangest little whacky idiot. And we love him.
