What does he say when he is making those froggy sounds at the beginning of every game? I'm not questioning why, just what? Although why would be interesting. I assume it's some kind of "handle" he feels his fans expect. Thank you in advance for your answers.

Just an observation, but I think one of the reasons McDonough, Bilas, and Raftery work so well is that they are the broadcasting equivalent of a singing trio with their voice timbres - McDonough the bass/baritione, Bilas the mid-range alto, Raftery the tenor. You always know who is talking, and it's pleasing to the ear.

They are enjoyable to listen to, I love the busting on each other about Raftery not being able to coach and Bilas not being able to play and Sean being from Cuse. A very good team!

I like the trio as well. But back to Raftery: it always sounds like he is saying something like "Ribbit!" when the game starts. He didn't exactly do that today, so I can accept that he squeaked, "Man to man!" Can anyone hazard a guess as to the approximation of "ribbit?"

I know that when he does our games he has his trademark: Syracuse starts out in zone withmantomanprinciples! The last string of words always sounds like Bilas & McDonough are giving him a wedgie

He says the play by play guys name usually to start. Verne currently but he may say fellas (which could be heard as ribbit maybe?) when with bilas and Sean?

HA HA HA!

Raftery is an institution and I dread the day he hangs it up.
