Rahme's look at the defense

It is interesting. The field corner lines up on the wide side of the field and has more territory to cover. I think you put your best one on one coverage guy there. Reddish is our best CB at man coverage. George and Morgan are battling it out for the backup field corner job. All three can really run and have excellent agility.

Anderson and Lyn are better against the run, not great at man coverage. A little bigger, stronger, maybe not quite as agile. Whigham is cut from the same cloth.

We have 6 excellent athletes at CB. The future looks bright here.

Overall, this is our biggest, fastest and most athletic defensive unit in many years. It should be significantly better than it was last season.

I'm excited to see this defense, and I expect them to play much better than last year. I love watching a good Shafer D.

Can you imagine if the D-Line can get pressure, it'll make the rest of the defense look even better. If these guys are all playing as well as advertised and they're able to be rotated in and out to stay fresh, we should really see some exciting defensive plays in the 2nd half of games I hope.

I've heard great things about Walls. He's a monster and brutualy strong. I was told he's very hard to block. Tougher then any of the other tackles.

#92 is Walls

I think you are right about Reddish - if he is the "field" CB, he is the best at man coverage.

Personally, I would like to see the 2nd best player at man coverage at the other CB, regardless of who that is.

IF Anderson/Lyn line up opposite of Reddish for the reasons you listed, then I think the FS has to be an extremely athletic/fast, ball hawk type to provide coverage help over the top. For that reason, I think (hope?) that Durrel Eskridge beats out Wilkes. If the reports are correct, Eskridge is consistently mentioned as being the best athlete in the secondary.

Reddish will be our best cover corner since Abrams.

Great to hear you say that, as someone who was following the team when Abrams played.

Loved Abrams. If Reddish is the same type of player (plus a few inches) that's great.

I think people tend to underestimate Lyn. He is very good corner with very good athleticism.

But Cali said he should be moved to WR and he wasn't good at CB!

Honestly, this kid's going to be a star for us. With him and Lyn we are going to do very well if we get pressure on the QB this season.
