Obviously Rak will start at the 4 yet again this year, but where does everyone think he'll get the majority of his minutes, at the 4 or 5? We all know that Fair and Grant will get the bulk of the mins at the forward spots. Then there's DC and Baye at the 5.

I'm aware it depends on many scenarios... how good DC plays on the defensive end could possibly be the main factor. I didn't see the Canada games so I don't know if Rak played any 5 at all, but even still that probably wasn't a great sample size considering Fair didn't play a whole lot.

Baye is the man and will play meaningful mins at the 5, so it gets interesting when thinking about the Rak scenario's this year. I really hope he can break out this year, but at what position?

What's everybody think?

5. Between CJ, Grant, and Roberson, there is 0 room for others at forward this year.

Agreed...he'll get the token starter spot at the 4, but play the bulk of his minutes at the 5, where we'll be a 3-headed monster. There will also primarily be a 3-headed monster at the 4 (outside of Rak's token 4 start). My question is will we have a 3-headed monster at the 2 as well?

I think the real question here is if Mouth has any naked pics of Rak's mom that he's selling real cheap. If he does, I think Rak could explode and play the majority of the available minutes at the 5.

I think he plays the 5 for the majority of his mins like people said, but the real issue is this:
That Rak meme is freaking awesome!!!

As long as DaJuan isn't doing the truffle shuffle under the basket on defense, he should make it tough for JB to decide whether to go with him or Rak. Come to think of it, Coleman doing the truffle shuffle at random points during the game may be good for a couple of steals per game for us.

I am completely disenchanted with Rak. JB's plan has always been to develop and play him at the 4 but has slid him to the 5 out of necessity at times over the past 2 years. So, the answer to the questions of his minutes and position this year depend greatly upon Coleman's performance (and DC's and BMK's combined health and eligibility). Personally, I feel that things will start clicking for Coleman and he will grasp the necessary communication from the center of the zone to prove himself worthy of splitting time nearly 50/50 with Baye. If Rak is going to get quality minutes it will have to be at the 4. My feeling is that he continues to struggle and finds himself low man on the totem pole earning around 10 mpg and sitting on the bench while our best five are on the floor. Prove me wrong Rak!! Make the leap and become the monster you were always meant to be!!!

depends on how well he plays at the 4. period.

th odd man out is baye.

I don't see Baye being the odd man out. JB likes players who know how to play the zone and don't make defensive mistakes through lack of understanding or inconsistent effort. Iwouldn't be surprised to see Baye as the 5 down the stretch in a number of games.

Nobody and I mean NOBODY knows what we have with Rak this year. I say that because his ceiling went from roleplayer to possibly double digit scoring and very stable defensive pf during the offseason.

There is only 4 things you got to know about raks new game.
1. Hes playing at a second gear speed level that he didn't play at for one minute last year, he played every minute of canada at that speed. It has helped his zone defense at PF.
2. His offhand dribble with his left hand with his head up is the best of any true pf/center we have had in the last decade. He was our most explosive true pf/center of the last decade in one play from the perimeter in canada.
3. He has developed a isolation game in the post, and his passing game out of doubles is coming along very nicely.
4. Hes got to make those 7-8 foot layups around the rim. Keep working on those foul shots.

I would like to see him move more to the middle of the lane and work on going right as well as left and finish those 7-8 footers with both hands. Its time to start devloping that even if hes missing alot of chippies going left right now. Keep working on those freethrows. Hop needs to keep pushing Rak, and give him a greenlight early this year.

NOBODY knows what will happen right now.
Its a tough situation on the right hand you have Dajuan and Keita who deserve more minutes and on the left you have Fair/Grant one of the top 5 forward tandems in the country easily, and a Freshmen who is Ready to play in Tyler Roberson. The one position teams will have a real lobsided mismatch against us at is SG, which is the same position as sf for a perimeter scoring forward on offense. forwards Dnic and KJO played where a sg would be on the floor as forwards in recent years.

My guess 7-10 minutes at PF because hes to much of a plus at pf to not get those minutes.

I heard Micheal Jackson's sister used his bathroom too.
