This is a great story...Of course, now any games we play in Delaware will be considered home games.
I hate to sound like the grinch, but all he did was sign a stupid card and put it in a self addressed stamped envelope....lets not go over board recognizing this nice but very small gesture. You guys sound like you're ready to nominate him for saint hood.

AgreedI think some of you are missing the point. It might have been an easy and simple thing for Rakeem to do, but the fact that he did such a simple thing for a fan still means something. He did not have to sign and put the SASE in the mail. He could have ignored it. Easily. But he didn't.
I'm not nominating him for saint hood, but lets not overlook that he did a good thing. I don't care how insignificant it may seem to some of you - I still think its a great thing for athletes, and especially for student-athletes, to do. Show appreciation for your fans because they will root for you and your success? **** ya.
God Bless her. She spelled Syracuse wrong on the card.

You have to remember, these guys have grown up with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc where everything is out there, everything is open. I would doubt this was done thinking "I'm going to show everyone how nice I am."Might have been more effort involved in his posting that he did it on Twitter than in actually doing it....just saying. Maybe I was missing the point, so was the point that he was being nice to a fan, or letting everyone know that he was being nice to a fan.
I agree. It took him like 5 secs out of his life.
It's nice of him, but it's not like he went up and beyond the call of duty. Plus the call of duty was already low to begin with.
Well if he played for Pay Pal Cal, there would have been gobs of cash in there to "help" him be so nice around the holidays to the fans.Good Story. If he played for Ohio State, Rak would have required a tattoo in exchange for the signed card.
I am sorry but what the hell is wrong with some of you. He signed a card that will make a young SU fan's day and yet some people on here still fault it to a degree. It's far away from being the most heroic act I have heard of however it still a great jester from a college kid
