In no particular order ...

-Crew for the weekend was KingOtto, Cuseman78, nyfcan, StopCoolio, and John (sorry John, don't know your handle!).

-Atlanta was better than I thought as a host. Not a New Orleans or Indy (Indy is a GREAT time for big events - everything within walking distance). Atlanta has a ok amount of bars around the dome. Centennial Park was right there with concerts, etc. We could walk to the dome from our hotel, which is huge. That's really the key. But the SU radio pre game show on Friday, etc was away from the dome area. Stuff like that makes it more spread out and less fun.

-Got to meet for the first time TexanMark, JarheadJim and Lollipop Orange. They were with old friend Swish. Good time drinking pregame outside at a makeshift beergarden by the dome.

-Chatted with CTO at the official SU pregame party at the convention center before the game. Good time. Lots of BBQ. Free drinks (you paid to get in). Game on big screen. Well worth it.

-We booked our travel package through SU. I know this means spending a little extra money but it's worth it. They did a great job and everything is first class. I recommend.

-Bad planning by SU having Matt Park's radio broadcasts Friday, etc at the Hudson Grille in midtown. There's literally one across the street from the dome. He should have been there.

-Michigan fans kind of remind me of us. Travel very well. And they should probably have 1 or 2 more titles (them for football obviously). Only ran into/heard one obnoxious Mich fan. Halftime in concourse yells out to nobody in particular "How's your middle school defense now?". Rest were fine.

-Could not figure out the crowd breakdown all weekend -- which is good news for us. Two large state schools, one expecting to be here and an easy drive away, the other with a large fan base, and we still were not overwhelmed. I think we were 3rd but easily could have been 2nd. It was that close. Obviously WICH was 4th.

-Might be a tad dissapointed in the student section. There was a pocket of about 6 rows in the student section that was empty. Granted it was in the back but still. Kind of dissapointing. Everything else obviously filled. Also, did not see many creative signs or anything special. There was the Biden big head and a "Feeling Zesty" sign. Not much else. Could have used like a "Your Mother is a Wolverine" sign or something else.

-Former players/people that I saw -- Dave Bing, DC, Hakim Warrick, John Wallace, Lawrence Moten, Allen Griffin, pretty sure McNabb, Sean McDonnough, Tim Welsh, Dion Waiters, Rob Murphy (a sneaky all-time favorite of mine for his support at the height of the Bernie stuff) and I think Damone Brown (but isn't he in jail?).

-I thought we would win. Didn't say it (superstitious) but JB 9-0 vs Belien, 3-0 in National Semifinals, Michigan being a good but not great team. Oh well.

-If we play Michigan 10 times I think Mich wins 5.5 to 6 times. Even teams.

-We just couldn't make a shot. That's it. If MCW or James plays their game, we most likely win. Very simple. Defense was fine.

-It's a fun weekend. We lost but we were down 10 to Seton Hall in the BET right after an epic beatdown at Georgetown. Could have packed it in right there. Instead we went to the Final Four. That's the bottom line.

Nice to hear these stories...

Thanks for sharing.

Good report. Hard to fault the students. Syracuse sold its allotment of 700 tickets. Sounds like they could have sold more.

I'm sorry that I missed KingOttoIII... he's a great guy who's been AWOL on the board. Hopefully he'll be back come football season.

This was not Matt's fault... blame IMG or, more accurately, poor communication.

I made Matt aware of the issue as soon as he arrived at the hotel. He later approached me for details and he tried to "fix" it. See the following picture of that discussion.

Great report, and again, it was great to see all of you.

The only player I saw at the official event was Danny Schayes. Dude made me look like a dwarf.

Travel safe.

Thanks for the insight. Didn't think it was Matt's fault (who is a great guy) but it was poor communication as you said. Oh well.

Just to add to former players and confirm:
U did see Mcnabb
U did see damone
Jason hart
Gorman
Presutti
Brandon Reese (with the worst haircut I've ever seen. Better make a nunes article, not even kidding - this was so metro euro, it was disgusting)
Our very own Jason poles

Agree. Reese's cut was hideous.

I missed all of this. Tried to go to the party at Hudson Grill. Too crazy there. Altho was there Friday night. My son and I could not even get food before the game. Next time I will do the official party. Sound like a good time, and I could have met more of you. I met Texan and Pa Cuse. Are any of you still here? I am here until Tuesday.

Stats are a funny thing. If our JB has won 9 in a row vs their JB it makes me think that our JB is overdue for a L.

Wait...Reese was there???? Was there a guy following him around saying, "Come on Reese, one on one, I will take you."
I think that was brncusefrvcuse. Where did he go?

Despite the loss, it was really a great time. But I really, really wanted 48 more hours in that city. Oh well, wasn't meant to be.

Agreed about the SU party. Was top notch. I think the crowd breakdown was pretty even, with Louisville winning the battle. Michigan and SU both represented very well. Maybe a few more UM fans but to be expected considering the size of the respective alumni bases.

Overall, the last month has been a helluva ride and completely redeemed the season. Our boys fought our asses off, that's unquestionable. What else can you really ask for?

I think that was brncusefrvcuse. Where did he go?
Yes it was brncusefrvcuse, or as we know him as Bjorn. Dude is a legend! But what happened to him is no mere mystery. He picked up all his belongings and moved to South America, where he practices day and night to become the best. He works out for 10 hours a day, watching game tape on Reese, lay up drills, shooting drills and ball handling drills, and he then finishes with running wind sprints. He works with an old man by the name of Blanco, who pushes Bjorn to his limits. Bjorn lays in wait for his day to strike back at Reese, and to own him. Many believed, me included, that this would be the right time for Bjorn to return.

We have no idea if he will return, but we will continue to wait patiently.
