--- It's funny how even in a half empty dome people still find a way to try and push you out of the seat you paid for. I really hate the bleachers.

--- So I like the enthusiasm of adding the Fog Horn thing for after the touchdowns, but I think they need to turn it down a notch...at least until we get some more people in there...and are you supposed to set it off after the Ref confirmed the TD on replay? Seems like the moment was pretty much over at that point.

--- speaking of replay...it was nice that they actually started showing the replays when the refs are reviewing a play...and they showed a ton more replays in general on Saturday. Good job.

--- I highly recommend stopping at the Perry's Ice Cream stand and getting the SU Helmelt. For $8 you get this nice mini helmelt AND Ice Cream. I know this is supposed to be for kids, but I'd pay $8 for the helmelt alone.

--- Some of the video screens are just plain embarrasing. I just feel like we are never going to be Big Time school until someone cares enough to learn how to use the scoreboards. At one point they were showing out of town scores from WEEK 1 of the NCAA season. Come on.

--- I'm not sure what to say about the DJ thing. We have a DJ now...ok. Thanks?

--- It was really nice to see TH hit the wide open receivers. Say what you want about the upside of TH, at least he can hit the wide open receiver. I am very happy that we finally have a QB. Go Orange!

Tech seems to be a problem with SU, our visit to their open house was a debacle and they couldn't quite get their tech problems straightened out. It just seemed ill prepared.

It is odd when there are many open seats and it seems all of the fans near you are there and you're kind of squished in.

!

Amen. There is no rule regarding not showing controversial calls. There was never a rule in the BE either, just an agreement to not "show up" the refs within the league. Its 2013, they need to show us the damn replays. Hopefully last Saturday was the beginning of a change in their thinking.

I have had discussions with several people in the Dept about how poorly they use the scoreboards. They claim they do a great job.. I asked once about the stupid total kicking yard stat. they claim its a great stat and that people want to know that we have punted for 362 yds in a game.. out of town scores have been an issue for 20 years and they still have no grasp on what to show and when

I miss the third down bell. I emailed TGD yesterday asking to bring it back.
That's extremely generic and happens at most football venues. I personally don't really care if it's gone. In fact I didn't even notice.

They should hire orangeyes to do their updates.

99% of the people on this board could do a better job...mainly becuase we care. I just picture a half asleep student sitting in front of a keyboard working off a hangover. Texas A&M was playing 'Bama and we didn't get one score update the entire game.

The DJ thing...all i have to say is Rutgers has been doing that for a couple years now and i think its really dumb..I hope we get rid of this ASAP. Id like to see Otto riding a train coming out of the tunnel before the team runs out...have the train steam and steam whistle blowing like crazy..love the steam whistle on third downs..id like that to be permanent. Lets ride the express.

If they are going to use the train whistle after touchdowns, they should start it almost immediately after the TD has been scored, not 10 seconds after.

I love the TD horn. Was loud and I am sitting very close but when we have reasonable crowds it will be very very sweet. Anything to bring the students on board and take the music out of past hands is much better. As far as the scoreboard, especially out of town scores-PLEASE PLEASE make some serious changes to take advantage of the tech we have available. How about pre-game bits with historical highlights. Really must this even be pointed out. Lets see Dan Conely make some hits, See any of the #44s make great runs, Don McPherson rip apart PSU...

Here's the train horn after a touchdown Saturday. Frozen is totally right. Sound that dang thing right away. love it though.

Even meathead fans know PUNTERS GOTTA PUNT

I believe that the "out of town scores" feature is contracted out, and isn't done by Dome or ISP employees. I'll try to get confirmation from my source later this week. But you're right, between posting stupid tweets and old/inconsequential scores those corner ribbon boards are a complete waste.

there are several easy ways to get scores, why bother to contract the score gathering out. tell them to pay the board and we can provide the information at half the cost..

If they are paying more than one cent for the "contracted service" they aren't getting their money's worth.

Honestly, hook the damn thing up to the ESPN scorecenter app. It's free!!!

Fans can get the out of town scores on their phones these days, (and way more up to date). What they should do is show clips from other games going on. Contract with ESPN/ABC for some highlights.

I like the train whistle. I used to love the cannon going off back in the day.

As to the music, it's WAY too loud. I should be able to converse with the person next to me. And what about the band? Can't they do a half-time show?

Loved the horn too. I admit the first time shock the hell out of me but after that I was waiting for it. It would be nice to hear it that often in one game a few more times this year :)

you can get the scores except most of the time the wifi/cell coverage is bogged down. you also have to take your phone out and fiddle with it. so much easier if the provide the score.. in addition it builds buzz in the bldg when other scores are shown/mentioned when they are relevevent.

i agree showing highlights from other games is a missing feature and will kill so much dead time. make it a fan experience to show stuff we are missing by actually buying tickets. if nothing else show the ACC stuff. im sure there is a money concern for making the whole thing so bad. at least explain it instead of just ignoring it.
