Rank these "superstars" transgressions

I don't really know that you can rank them I guess. One thing I do know is that I don't care about PEDs and actually think we are basically indirectly begging these guys to use PEDs. How excited would this board be if we landed a 6-4, 250-lb linebacker who ran like a 4.4 or something? And if you can take a few cycles of HGH, hit 50 HRs twice and get a huge contract out of it -- and yes, I know it's "wrong" -- but we're really calling guys out for that? I don't know, I liked watching Bonds and McGuire hit moonshots and it's up to them if they want to ruin their bodies longterm. Couldn't possibly care any less.

I agree. People needs to get over it. It wasnt illegal and was fun to watch.

I think Jerry Sandusky and the Penn St Scandal is #1 by a huge margin.

The problem is that using PEDs shouldn't become a necessary requirement to be at the top of a sport.

Back to the original list: if we're ranking transgressions instead of serious crimes (which we must be or you'd have to included Sandusky, OJ, Rae Carruth, Harding), you need to remove Vick and Tyson. I agree with Lance at #1 due to over the top hypocracy and attempts to crush anyone who (correctly it turns out) spoke against him. Other steroid liars at #2. If it turns out that Teo made this up to garner Heisman sympathy, move hime to #3. If someone duped him for the same reason (or better yet to crush him before playing whatever team they actually root for), he'd top another list.

Others to add would be Mike "It's Rollin', Baby! " Price, the Baylor coach who tried to alter the story about the murder, and more recently, Suzy Favor - the track star/escort.

Sandusky's pedophilia
Paterno's cover up
OJ's killing two people
Tyson's rape

All of these are crimes and have seriously injured innocent people, even ended people's lives. Not sure anything supersedes violent crimes, total depravity, destroying other people for their own selfish reasons.

Tiger's philandering is horrible, but is limited to his own family and did not physically harm others (though he may have been harmed for his own transgressions). All of the above have left serious emotional/mental scars.

As far as steroid usage: Way down the list. Mostly, steroids hurt the player himself - can you say Lyle Alzado?

All of these morons have let down their fans, injured their sports and left us feeling dirty just for reading about it. But is any of us truly injured by these self-centered, egotistical, overpaid athletes? Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go clean up after discussing this trash.

I agree in theory but in practice, if these guys all want to start using HGH b/c it makes them that much better and earns them that much more money, I'm not really sure you're going to ever stop it. Love the mike price reference.

The idea from when I first set up this topic was how these athletes "hurt" themselves and mainly from a financial standpoint. That's why I didn't include Sandusky. I didn't feel he was an athlete and didn't really hurt himself financially (not losing millions like these others did). Tiger did. Tyson did. The steroid guys definitely did. Vick did and Te'o has now.

It really shows how "stupid" some of these guys are and how they feel they are above the law or above the moral compass.
