I had that thought - but think he's not the best fit. He relied on great talent in a talent flush region. Think we need a riskier, unique offense to compete.

I see the Mendenhall hire as either a strong triple or a 3-pitch strikeout hire. Could go either way. I am just not sold on his lack of roots in the East. Things will be interesting in the Commonwealth, but if I had to put my money on one HC to "win out," it is Justin Fuente.
