Class of 2023 RB Ahmad Miller (TN) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (1/7/26)

Good couple of days for the offense. Big bodied talented receiver in Weaver, big time Tight End in Smith that played his freshman year but was not utilized correctly at South Carolina and was a big time recruit. Likely RB2 or 3 in Johnson. Hatcher coming back which is good if he’s healthy.

Really need to start stacking on the defensive side. Which I’m pretty sure we already have a couple guys in the fold but just haven’t announced yet
I like the RB versatility. We have our scat in Hill, power in Miller and 3rd down/versatile in Johnson. Nice mix.

We can check RB off and I’m happy with what we did here.

good point. All 3 have vastly different styles.

we need to mix all of them accordingly.

not to jump to conclusions but as of now those are our top 3 guys at RB.

Malachi Coleman still exists too with breakout speed.

If I'm Vince Kehres, I'm like "what about me"? What's going to make this class is if we get a solid #2 QB (optimistic) and some quality DL, including at least 1 pass rusher (less optimistic).
robert eggers patience GIF

Pretty confident we have DL and linebacker in the fold. We have a couple really good players on the defense visiting in the next few days too

Between Deslauriers, Tremble, and Bryant, I'm not too concerned about LB. I'd rather spend the money on quality linemen.
On a different note, found some nice film for Ahmad Miller. Granted a lower level of competition, but more broken tackles than I remember seeing from our backs last year. Me like.

watch the cut he makes at :47 seconds. excellent vision.

this is clearly an upgrade over yasin…

idc if it was against Hampton & Florida a&m

Why this one? This is the one making the biggest jump in level and the first one I’m kind of taking the wait and see approach.
There are really good players at these levels. I like the ones that have produced. All-conference, captains, etc. at these levels have proven they can compete at the highest level of P4 football. Sure, there are going to be those that don’t work out, but i’m at the point now where i favor production vs potential, especially if the SEC/B10 guys are already entering their 3rd year without previously contributing.

Plus, i think this kid is more of an APB that is a good fit for our offense.

I’m liking the balance of the type of players they are bringing in

Production > potential I agree

I'm a fan of the commitment and the tape. My only small worry is he runs a little more upright than I was expecting, might get punished a little at this level
when u say upright do you mean before he hits the hole or when he gets passed the DL?
