Exactly. It's kind of embarrassing, to be honest.

People with absolutely zero idea what's actually going on behind the scenes just heaping negativity all over the place. Really frustrating.

Will we land Robert? I can't say with any certainty. But we're in a very good spot.

Yep. Another thing, too. People with massively competitive drives, e.g. D1 football players, hate negativity. Shows weakness and a propensity to accept defeat.

I just read the bleacher report article. I view his comments to mean he already picked us. I don't see any other way to take what he said. Try using some positivity instead of negativity every now and then and you might just be surprised at how it makes you feel. Dudes gonna shock the world.

Can I just say with regard to that Bleacher Report that I'm personally pretty thrilled with how he was talking all about our #Restore44 campaign? Ha. That got me giddy. It also showed me that, even if it doesn't have an impact on the actual decision, it worked in terms of making Robert know just how highly thought of he is among Syracuse fans.

You might have noticed that another byproduct of "positivity" is that the usual purveyors of negativity (and yes, we know who you are) become far less vocal.

I hope he comes here without a doubt. In second place, I hope that if he chooses not to come here for his own personal reasons our fans are respectful of that decision.

The ridiculous social media behavior of the RU crowd after the JG announcement yesterday is an embarrassment for their program and doesn't help the program at all moving forward.

Just a thought.

I hope I don't have to break out this bad boy again: http://.com/recruiting-season-reveals-more-about-us-than-recruits/

I didn't see the JG tweets ... were they that bad?

It was a lynch mob mentality against anyone perceived to be responsible for the adverse decision. The targets were JG, his family, and Coach Flood and alot of them were very ugly and unnecessary.

Nj.com comment section from yesterday after the announcement will give you a taste if you're interested.

have no doubt about it that there will be some ugly tweets from cuse fans if things dont go our way. just check out some of the things people said to bj and chris on ig. its disturbing.

Any negativity I feel if he chooses to go elsewhere will not be directed toward RW. It will be about the idea that he is our best chance to land a guy that is considered by everybody to be a stud and we will have missed out. I generally not one to lash out at our program, but I will probably have doubts about whether we'll ever get one of those guys ever again and will mostly keep those to myself. Having said all that, I'm choosing to believe in the guys that say we're in a great position and will believe he's coming here until he states otherwise. When he does commit to us, I will do a happy dance despite the fact that I'll probably be at work when I find out.

Has this thread surpassed the EBO thread yet? I feel like this will end up standing alone as the largest thread in Syracusefan SU Football Recruiting history!

This is pretty much how I feel, if we don't get him we didn't do enough, no ill will towards RW. I also understand that the staff may of done all they could. Which would be frustrating...

Your second to last sentence is important to remember. Sometimes, it's not about what the staff didn't or couldn't do. It's just about a kid deciding a school just wasn't the right fit. There's nothing wrong with that, and coaches can't force a kid to choose the school.

That said - I don't think that will happen here. I really feel good about where we are at this point.

I understand completely, in RW's case I feel like IF we are going to get a top 100 player its going to be him. If not, it won't be until we start cracking the top 25. Obviously he would greatly improve our chances at that. Not to mention the other players that he could potentially sway here that otherwise wouldn't give us a look. I think program savior is a little strong, but he could help us skip 2-3 years of rebuilding... Like a fast forward!

Oh lord, imagine how tense things will be getting in January as we wait impatiently to get that national letter of intent.
Especially if we're waiting with a new coaching staff after this one is canned!

By the way, I'm an idiot. I said that January will be stressful waiting for him to sign, if he commits. That's not true. December will be stressful, because Robert is planning on enrolling early, which means he'll be on campus even before signing a NLI, wherever he winds up.
