There is a different level though isn't there? Let's use Pickard as an example, I doubt we were talking to him everyday / multiple times a day (my definition of "constant")

Weekly contact sure, but not 'constant' until the Wisconsin staff left and Jake opted to reopen his recruitment.

If I was a recruit, I wouldn't be upset with weekly check ins with teams I wasn't committing too, in case something would alter my circumstances. But I would get really irritated by multiple messages a day (think of clingy ex-gf syndrome who just can't move on) real fast. I guess that's more what I am describing here.

As of a few weeks ago, Caliluv was posting that RW wasn't hearing from SS and co nearly as much as some other coaches. I read it as a good thing that the staff has potentially corrected that.

Look where www.restore44.com links to. Maybe someone should let him know.
Interesting that on that site, the primary recruiter listed for 3 of the schools has coached at Syracuse. I know Brian White is not at Florida any longer, but still... Read the tea leaves, RW.

My issue is why did this have to be corrected in the first place? How do you drop the ball communicating on a regular basis with your #1 recruit?

How about we wait until after the 25th to do a review of what did or didn't work? We should be giving major kudos to the staff for getting us this far.

Ahh i'm sick of being bridesmaids we need to close the deal with one of these elite prospects. 2nd or 3rd place is the first loser. I feel pretty good about it though, but i'll wait until after his announcement before any praises, or condemnations are handed out.Oh Lord

Marrone always said when he was recruiting Ishaq that it would take a special individual to go against the grain so to speak and choose SU over a "factory".

I think Robert could be the one who thinks maybe a little differently than most kids nowadays. Not superficial, has a great head on his shoulders, smart, thoughtful, just an all around good kid.

Kinda like Neo in the Matrix.

Agree 100%. We need to land one of these guys... for once.

I'm excited to see Jekelish's posts above and the confidence he is expressing. But we need to close and land a top notch prospect to help us gain momentum on the recruiting trail.

If we get this kid to commit this is the performance that gets people to say this staff can recruit. Finishing 2nd or 3rd does nothing. If we get Washington to commit SS will get props, but no major kudos until they close the deal.

27 minute mark.

Couldn't make out where he said something about his Mom? living close enough to Syracuse to attend games. Anyone get that?
Give him the digits, it obviously means a lot to him. And BTW - The Express strikes again.

No kidding. Not that it was the most perfectly historically accurate film, but it has taken a tradition that really hadn't been known in 20+ years, and pushed it into the minds of the younger generation. Something for us to build / capitalize upon.

And he's talking about #Restore44 and all of the edits (I think I've done about half a dozen of them). You're welcome, everyone! Ha.

And oh, he said his mom is from Connecticut so his family is all from that area originally.

I thought he said his family is originally from Connecticut and that his mother still lives up there.

I'd say that was a very favorable interview towards Syracuse.

I think every recruitment should be taken into context.

Ishaq's recruitment was different from Robert Washington's recruitment.

Don't look down on certain coaches because of one isolated recruitment. I think over time, the cream rises to the top.

Shafer's staff has proven it can win certain battles that Marrone's staff could not. That's my personal opinion and a general observation. I hope that trend continues.

Yeah, remember, this staff just beat two of Robert's finalists last cycle for two recruits. That's always a good start, at least.

I'm hoping the "I had to put them in the top 6" comments are smoke screens. DT asked the follow up that obviously RW44 was going to give the correct response. Let's see what happens, people. Regardless of how it goes down, this recruitment makes it fun to be a cuse fan.

What he said about "The U" in regards to needing a few guys to turn a program around was a little telling to me. I feel a little more optimistic after listening to that interview.
