Class of 2026 RB Shavane Anderson (PA) COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE (9/6/25)

Proud The Karate Kid GIF

Not able to find any stats for him, pretty small school he plays for and they are not good.
Only I found was a year or two ago he had a game with 5 carries for 120ish yards and 2 TDs.
Looks to be another burner we are bringing in and going to see where we can play him.

They're a bigger school at 6A, albeit not a very good one.

He is a do it all player for them at rb, wr and kr. He had 355 total yards, 169 rushing and 3 TDs (1 rush, 1 return, 1 rec) total in their 22-16 win over Hempfield week 2.

Thanks I missed it was a 6A school.

I had to look because it's York High but guess called William Penn as well? Their field has a Y in the middle as well. It's the inner city York school I believe like Reading High, Harrisburg, or McCaskey in their respective counties

The fourth high school for the city is the present one. It was built in 1927 and extensively repaired a few years ago. Local historical fever was high in 1927, a time of celebration of the sesquicentennial of Congress meeting in York. That might have had an influence on the decision to officially name the new school William Penn Senior High School and change the name of the old high school to Hannah Penn Junior High School.

EXCELLENT COMMIT
Excellent commit? We beat out Kent State, Old Dominion and St. Francis.

If this is an excellent commit, who isn't?

Interesting stuff and thank you as always! We have a bunch of William Penn schools in PA, as you can imagine, some of which are charter schools or online schools. I thought perhaps this gent was home schooled or did online school and simply played for his local high school initially.

Fran and Staff clearly saw something in the kid. Just because he doesn’t have a zillion P4 offers doesn’t make him a bad recruit / commitment. He has the size and speed for a good DB. We all want the 4 and 5 stars but some kids just don’t get the exposure or are late bloomers. Lots of reasons but the Staff clearly saw something in him they like.

He was offered last year after camp I believe and has been to the dome multiple times. He's not an unknown commodity to our coaches in the slightest

Didn’t you know that the roster is now 105, walk-ons don’t exist anymore and the expectation is that all 105 roster spots will be filled with kids that are heavily recruited?
