Class of 2025 RB Tylik Hill (NJ) COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE (12/26/24)

Speed is good, but 8 smaller guys at RB and WR over two classes seems like overkill.
I’d be shocked if they all stick. The best of them stick around, the rest will be out in the next 18 months.

Reminds me of the Ibn McDaniel pick up last year. I know that it's two very different positions. But both had great film and played for a crappy team. No one really were big on them other than Cuse. Ibn I believe ended up making 2 deep at some point. Both may end up turning into decent Cuse players in next couple years. Time will tell.

Ibn is legit and a good example of why you take a chance on this guy.

As for Tylik, despite losing 8 games, Pope John lost to only good teams. They still wound up ranked top 20 in NJ because of who they played. It’s not so much that Pope John was a bad team. However he got a lot of his yards against the five Catholic “B” teams that they beat that were mostly garbage teams. I think in just three of the games he had almost 900 of his yards. Also had a big day vs Delbarton, which is a good offensive but terrible defensive team.

Pope John usually has a good offense, but gets beat up by the best Bergen County Catholic schools in the trenches. At one time they had NFL guys Izzo at TE and Noah Brown at WR with Sonny Abramson (UVA back up) at QB and they still got destroyed by St Josephs by 30 Points. NJ catholics are tough. Need to get more of these guys along with Camden area kids we are getting. A few go to Rutgers, BC, etc but most of the best ones go to Ohio Ohio State or Michigan or Alabama or Penn State or Notre Dame, etc.

first time I've ever watched football players film and thought "he moves like a hockey player". he seemingly glides covering ground without much turnover but the lateral mobility, balance and the way he rides through contact while keeping his feet are akin to the guys that seemingly never get hit with a clean check
Wow! I thought the same thing and I dont even watch alot of hockey...I was thinking gliding like skating and also gallopping like a horse & dare i say Dickerson had that gallop.
He has just a very unique running style, good pickup...However, we will see how that all translates before I get too excited.
He also has the patience instinct. Something that takes 1000s of reps for some but he seems to have that naturally.
Also, the first play where he set up the 2 tacklers to run into each other...the eyes in the back of his head saw it bc he turned around and literally pointed it out.

*I like how he stands there before the snap like hes waiting to place his order at Mcdonalds, not in a stance most of the time just standing there visualizing how the play will unfold.
He also had some really good blocking in front of him from the whole team.
