Clemson actually gives a pretty good number of great, lower deck seats to visiting fans.
Not in the last three years. End zone and corner of the top deck.

wait a second, I don't always write a ton on the message board unless I am coming to a game, I wanted to say this, what about our confidence level? we're 4-0 going into a game we won last year at our place. You don't think Clemson isn't the least bit worried about that? Give the Orange some credit, I remember a Jim Calhoun quote one time after they got bounced in the first round to San Diego, Calhoun was asked what happened in that game, and Calhoun spoke with transparency and said "We had the more talented team, but when you give a team that is less talented the opportunity to win, and they start to believe it is a completely uphill battle from that point on". Syracuse may not have the talent Clemson does, but Syracuse beat them a year ago, and they showcase one of the best offense's in college football. If it is close at the half and you give them the chance to "believe" I think it can go either way, Clemson has the ability to look at this game and just think we win by 30, but our guys have the confidence and the feeling that it won't happen, for the first time since maybe Marrone there's a buzz around a team with the ability to win and look exciting, you don't think these kids don't feel it? momentum in college football is everything, look what happened to tech at ODU, it matters, and I am very excited for this game.

I had a longer reply typed before I noticed you acknowledged the end zone section.

Those lower end zone tickets are great seats and much better than I've ever gotten as a visiting fan anywhere except Louisville, which gave us equivalent seats (low corner). People at Clemson donate thousands per year, before the cost of tickets, for much worse seats. I'm one of them... $2,390 this year and I get 2 seats in the upper deck on the 10 yard line.

If those seats are crappy, which schools are giving y'all better seats than that?

From going over there for the first time they say we beat them because we gassed them. Got the ball out quickly and tired their bigs. There's some truth to that! Orange is the New fast!

I'm not one for moral victories at this level, but I'd take seeing some Clemson defenders "cramping" as a "win" within the game.

I got to the UConn game way before kickoff. Watching CUSE and UConn pregame was night and Day! Those Syracuse trainers were all over the field! Very intense! They were all huge and the one new trainer (I believe) really big guy, was staring down UConn rather intensely! Point being! This Syracuse team is well conditioned! It's great to see them pregame! It's like a well oiled machine!

We have a 250 page thread dedicated to Rutgers. We don’t exactly have a shortage of fringe lunacy.

Well sure, but come on. It's Rutgers!

I attended East Carolina for a year before transferring to Clemson. At both schools it felt like 2 of 3 out of state students were from NJ (More like 4 out of 5 at ECU). The ones who were my friends almost to a person said one of their reasons for going out of state was because they couldn't stand the thought of attending Rutgers.

Not sure why they didn't just go to Princeton. :rolling:

It was a fluke. But it’s repeatable. Y’all have a good QB (I’m assuming Dungey is back), and an offensive system that is hard on our defensive play caller because he likes to make the call after the offense is lined up. Y’all also look to have a good DL.

A repeat may not be as likely as a Friday night road game with an injured QB1, but Clemson needs to be fully engaged.
We are all happy to fluke you again. Actually we would like to fluke everybody this year. We would rather be the fluckers than the fluked. Hope you guys beat every one else!

Virginia, Maryland, Wake, NCS.

Was just reading this article yesterday about the dilemma of the PAC 12 in Football and Basketball.

Great find, CL. One can only imagine how this plays out. Playoff expansion. Joint TV deals. The demise of a conference?

I went with 6x14 because I believe there are at least 84 programs who might field at least one playoff participant in any 10 year period. This would be even more likely with TV money being distributed evenly across the country - and better for national TV ratings. Also, 6 conferences allows for better defined regional identity which I think would make the game more appealing to fans.
I’m curious, what would your conferences be? What teams together? I ask bc This topic has been discussed a lot here and some posters know a lot about it, so I’m curious your thoughts

It's not that as much as there are a large number of Tiger fans who would like to see conference affiliations go back to being defined by their regions - and some of them couldn't give you an intelligent reason for what they think if you tortured them.

My personal preference would be to blow up the entire power 5 architecture and create 6 new 14 team divisions or conferences. That would require resurrecting a good portion of the old Big East. The end game would be an eight team playoff that includes the 6 conference winners plus two at large spots for the highest ranked conference championship game losers. No independents and no team skating in without playing in their championship game. TV revenue would be evenly divided among all six conferences.

A structure like that would bring more parity to the game and rebuild many regional rivalries that have gone by the wayside in recent years.

Tear it apart guys. It's not going to happen anyway.

Socialism and symmetry. I did not expect that from a Clemson fan!

It’s interesting to read more comments about our offense vs the Clemson D.

I think our offense will be OK. Will score enough points to win a game.

The big question is our D. Did some good things last week, especially on pass rush.

But was overall inconsistent against a bad team.

We need to hope emotion makes a difference this week and that they can clean up mistakes against a much more talented offense.

Defense needs to play well enough to give us a shot to win with offense and specials.

As long as we have all our starters with Foster back, I think with our DL pressure we can force the freshman into some happy feet and some mistakes.

He won't have seen the pressure and blitz packages from us in High School.

UConn great learning experience for all. The Pindel td is on the coaches. Coaches from the booth should've been yelling for a TO. They spread us out and the DL lined up improperly. Plus the MLB was up too close and got pushed to the side by the center. And a Rfr safety; Coley came up too fast and to the side our MLB was getting pushed to, slipped trying to recover, and was out of the play that he and the MLB (again that word; should) have made. Cannot do that against Clemson!
I figure Dabo and Venables have dissected our offense. Dabo playing mind games with Dino and vice versa. Will see a lot of tight at the line coverage on our receivers. They will be jumping a lot of the quick outs. No interceptions no fumbles and keep penalties to a minimum and we will be in it.

Alignment mistakes and mental mistakes caused the WMU issues as well but thats why most big plays happen.. You try to force teams into places that 1 mistake breaks a big play.. Much like the Phillips TD vs Clem last year. This is also the reason so many runs have come so close this year, we are putting some D schemes into zero or single high with number in the box that if we block well its a big run. with a bit more RB speed we probably have 6-7 50+ tdr runs already

The Pindell TD was on the safety that got blocked by the official and fell down. We were aligned fine for thet play.

I am praying they jump a lot of the quick slants and outs leaving safeties on our quick guys and Custis. That is a recipe for disaster for Clemson.

Believe me, they will be trying to keep everyone in front of them and letting their DLine go to work.

Dabo saw us quick strike them last year and believe me Venables wont be letting that happen again.

Herm Edwards already said that college teams are going to score, you just have to limit them and score more. That will be what type of game this is.

Well, its that and Syracuse could have blown them out if not for mistakes and penalties that went against SU. The fumble by Strickland when they were driving caused a 14 point swing.

We need to smack Trevor Lawrence in his mouth. PERIOD. 4 quarters of Slayton and Alton, in his face. Kids too talented to have all day and too young to handle that much beef, without getting rattled. We need to force him into freshman mistakes, if not, he picks us apart.

If they have issues with their S and LB - I feel better about our chances. Eric and Dino know how to attack and confuse those positions. Tempo, Eric’s feet, and quick throws will help against the pass rush.

Will need some WR to step up.
