Based on how we played yesterday and our remaining schedule, what do you guys think our record will end up being? I’d say we end up being 5-7 or 6-6. The games that can really determine how this season goes are Pitt and UNC.

8-4.

Losses to Tennessee, Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame.

I don't think we lose to SMU, i'm not a believer in them. And i think we steal one against North Carolina, And i think we trounce Georgia Tech.

I think the scary game is Duke. I don't want to be 2-3 after the first 5.

Would beating UNC at home, or away for that matter be considered a steal?
I feel like thats similar to the penny pinching weirdo at the bar that tries to hide when "stealing" the free popcorn.

I think we beat ND...

Potentially twice
&
also beat Tennessee in the CFP

Not a good program right now with this defensive. Best case is 5-7, could be worse I guess

I am thinking 4 to 6 wins so split the difference at 5-7.
I am in this camp. We will face so many big time rosters capable of replicating the disguise and chaos the Tenn front wreaked on us. I think Nixon will scheme to put the O in situations to combat this just enough to pull out a 6th win. We will Stub a toe (always do) at home to a sPitt, Puke or gross BB and his girlfriend, and I think steal one at GT or SMU. 6-6 and Ill happily sign up for that right now given the sched.

With the brutal schedule, honestly six and six would not be shabby, hoping for seven and five. Will be predicated on defense improvement
Yep, that's about where I am. 7-5 would be huge with a chance to get an 8th W after a bowl win. I'm thinking 6-6 is more realistic, which wouldn't be bad.

The road schedule is brutal. We were 2-2-1 last year in regulation on the road against much lighter competition. On top of that, both GA Tech and Miami will be motivated for revenge. I think SMU is our best chance and they are ranked 16th right now.

Home we have 4 high quality HCs that we face. Two of whom beat us last season. Only losing one of those is an achievement.

Is such an insanely ridiculous take after one week.
Have you watched the defense the past 14 games? At what point are you expecting it to turn around? The really good coordinators make an impact. Sure they have bad games but also have plenty of good ones. Not seeing it, sorry. EROB is over his head, IMO. Just the way I see it but hey to each his own

If this culture is what I think it is, 4-8 or 5-7 would be disappointing results, and an emerging cause for concern. 6-6 is as low as it should go. I’m hoping for 7-5.

I really don’t know who we will be favorites again other than UConn and Colgate. Possibly BC? Again, this isn’t totally based on our team, but how ridiculously tough our schedule is.

Yes, it’s fair to say we won’t be favored more than maybe those 3 games.

That said - we’ve got enough size, speed, talent, and most importantly - depth,
to be able to compete against any team on the schedule.

We will just have to “steal” a few W’s (likely at home) over some of those favored teams.

And ideally grab at least one road upset W.

There’s still a path to 6+ wins.
It won’t be a gimme.
