Interesting that UVA took over Notre Dame for the top spot in the rankings. I guess having the number one recruit counts for quite a bit. UVA has the following commitments - #1, #5, #13, #31, #36, #46, plus two additional four stars. Notre Dame has #8, #15, #17, #19, #22, #25, #33, #48 plus three additional 4 stars. Duke has three top 11 commits, plus three other top 50 recruits and one additional four star. UNC has three top 12 commits, plus three other top 50 recruits and three additional four stars. I would kind of think that quantity like Notre Dame's might give them the upper hand, but apparently IL's list works to give quality over quantity. I am guessing that if Merrill choses one of the above ACC schools, they will most likely become the top class. Side note, interesting that Hopkins made Millon's top 3. Given that his mom went to Maryland, I thought they might be one of the finalists. Last thing, SU stands at #13 right now, I am guessing mostly due to Hahn's commitment. If they can land a couple more four star players, seems like they could enter the top 10. The teams immediately in front of them (Hopkins, Ohio State and Michigan) all have double digit recruits, while SU only has six.
