Do we even take NYS kids anymore? ;)
Unless related to a coach Syracuse is pretty much an afterthought to recruits. Desko doesn't waste his time recruiting as he just takes referrals from players. Actually two local high school coaches says Donohue does all the coaching in practice now. They think he should be the face of the program now.

So of the three marquee programs at SU, two of those head coaches are "over," recruiting. Awesome.

Desko takes the Boeheim approach. Been that way for awhile.

I was reminded of this when Quint asked where Cuse would be without transfers this season.

I was thinking about this too. Cuse really making a living going the transfer route. I certainly hope that never runs dry.Kind of a indictment on our struggles with recruiting when many of your best players are transfers.

Yes and No. Lax is going through radical changes right now. Players who were under the radar in high school and developed their game in college have the option of transferring from UMass or Brown or wherever to the premier programs and playing for a championship. It's one avenue to building up your team. Where would SU be without transfers? Where would we be without OCC? Where would Hopkins be without preppies? Who cares? Build a team however you can.

Transfers are a two way street.

If the NCAA made kids sit out a year like they do for football & basketball, we'd probably still have DeJohn and Hatem (both Seniors), and Maltz (Junior).

That's a good point. All of them would be extremely valuable on this team.

But the 5th year seniors who have their degree and can transfer in without penalty are worth garnering. Hopefully, Piroli will heal up and make a difference for us.
