Recruiting is so fluid now, even if a player signs a LOI he can get out of it. I can't even really parse any of this until the first game is played in September because of all the loopholes.

Different factors contributed to the bad class last year so we shouldn't use this cycle to compare Monroe's whole tenure at SU. I do believe we replaced him with some reputable coaches. Johnson, Fisher and Perkins are vets who have established relationships across the country. So its that along with coming off a winning season, and having players drafted.

I’ve posted about this numerous times in the quantum time theory thread. But, in regard to recruiting, I guess I’m just getting anxious after years on the merry-go-round. I think I should have posed the remark in the form of a question, “if not now, when?”

Gonna offer a sobering opinion…getting HS talent is easier now because the blue bloods aren’t competing for them as much as they’re sniffing your already developed 2-deep.

A few things….

- There has definitely been an uptick so credit to the coaches. However, I wouldn’t say it’s been a huge improvement, yet. Class currently ranks in the 50’s. By comparison, Pitt has a top 20 class.

- Let’s wait till after signing day to judge. Still a lot of moving parts and let’s see which players get poached which happens to us every year.

- I like the strategy of filling the HS positions by start of season so that staff can focus on transfer portal and keeping current players from potentially leaving or being poached.
