When inside the opponents 10 yard line with 2 minutes to go in the half you DO NOT need to be in hurry up mode. You need to milk the clock down. You have plenty of time.

Absolute idiocy. Cost us 7 pts. All the talk about play calling, etc, but this is the stuff that is just inexcusable. Shows a total lack of understanding of in game situations.

Meh I didnt have a problem with it. The holding penalty was a killer and those plays were just bizarre.

The OP is absolutely correct. I was thinking the same thing. But hey, there's a reason they're coaching football and not curing cancer.

Maybe the hurry up is what helped them get that ball into the end zone. Isn't that the first priority? Should be able to trust your D to keep them from going 80 yards in 50 seconds.

No. It's stupid. That is all there is to it. It's not a real hurry up we are running, it's a sort of half hurry up. It's not like we are trying to keep BC from lining up correctly. It's just snapping it with 25 instead of 5 left because our coaches lack any semblance of situational awareness.

His point was our defense was to blame letting a team score in 3 plays.

I think his point was that the coaches thought if we slowed it down on the last few plays BC might have had a better chance of stopping us. Which is actually the only argument in defense of the coaches ( I just don't agree with it).

As for the defense yeah they should have stopped them but if the coaches managed the clock better BC would have got it with 30-40 seconds left and likely just taken a knee.

Anyway...the game is on the D...but I still think that was dumb.

Now THAT is how you don't leave any time! PS - full disclosure I had a post typed up asking how you can possibly let the clock go from 38 sec to 22 without spiking the ball or running a play...

How much time was left on the clock when bc scored the TD. They got the ball with just over s minute and no TOs . Sorry that's on the D and reddish who gave up on that pass

Also limits defensive substitutions.

Definitely gave BC too much time at the end of the game. 6 Seconds are you kidding me? Should have milked it a little more and scored with no time left.

No it doesn't. You can come up to the line early but not actually get set and snap the ball until 5-10 seconds left. That is how every single NFL team does it. I mean...I just don't know how you can defend not running another 30 seconds there. It was stupid and could have cost us the game.
