lost him because of sanctions, no other way to view it, and Huerter too.We chosen to push BJ out. That is on us. We could have kept him and the lost scholarship would have rolled over to another year. We ended up getting that scholarship back on appeal.
It’s on our fault for losing him.
My god you excuse everything and put no blame on us. That isn’t how life works.
Not true
This isn’t true. All players on scholarship or signed financial aid scholarships were allowed to remain.lost him because of sanctions, no other way to view it, and Huerter too.
We lost bj because we never gave him a chance not bc of sanctions.lost him because of sanctions, no other way to view it, and Huerter too.
This isn’t true. All players on scholarship or signed financial aid scholarships were allowed to remain.
Again we chose to ask him to move on.
If we wanted the player we could have kept him.
That one scholarship loss would have rolled over to another year and because on appeal we got it back wouldn’t have been lost at all.
His loss is on us pure and simple.
If Johnson was averaging say 10 PPG as a Sophomore we don’t ask him to move on.
Those are tough decisions to make. This isn’t true. All players on scholarship or signed financial aid scholarships were allowed to remain.

If we had BJ and Huerter for the last 4 years, things would have been a lot different.likewise if the sanctions weren't in place, we wouldn't have pushed him out
100% agreed that is on us, but it is also sanctions generated
that said, using the sanctions as an excuse for the current state of the program is hard core weak sauce

That was our choice.
The sanctions were used as the reason but always planned on appealing the penalties. Which we did and the appeal got us back a scholarship and we didn’t even use that scholarship in 2015-16 it went to Christian White who redshirted and grad transfered in 2016-17.
We won that scholarship back. It was our decision to ask him to move on. Blaming sanctions is Monday morning QBing the situation.
We didn’t need the scholarship for somebody else. It was to start the penaitlies ASAP but again we planned on appealing and we did succeed in our appeal going from 12 lost scholarships to 8. The decision to push Johnson out is completely on us.not really as he was "pushed out" when it looked like we "needed" the scholarship elsewhere
the fact that we appealed and won back the scholly later is just another example of how poorly SU handled itself in fighting the NCAAhole's decision. SU could (and should imho) have been in WAR DAMN OTTO mode asap filing injunctions and threatening/proceeding with legal action from the jump. Maybe if we did, BJ woulda been full Orange
That isn’t the issue. The lost scholarships didn’t effect him.would BJ have been forced out if we had 13 scholarships?

After BJ didn’t redshirt his Freshman year and JB wasn’t happy who knows.if there were no sanctions, would BJ have been pushed out?

I am not going to say no because we don’t know.

He was already here.
Our staff decided they wanted to start the penalties in 2015-16 that was our decision.
Sanctions were for future recruits not players already on the team:
It was our decision plain and simple.
Good point about pb&j. Makes about as much sense as thinking that Luck had unilateral decision making at any level of the NCAA, let alone on committees he did not serve on.So he was delusional and made those comments about going after Boeheim from what standpoint then? Because pb and jelly go good together?
Honestly, Lousiville hasn't received much in the way of sanctions, yet. They're still in investigation mode and their day will come. However, they did lose their AD and coaching staff in addition to some sanctions and they managed to not only keep recruits they did have (Nwora could have easily transferred after the interim coach Padgett), but land some transfers, and not miss a beat in recruiting under Mack. That's impressive.Tired of hearing the sanctions as an excuse for our current demise. Louisville seems to have bounced back fine from their Pitino mess and their sanctions.
During sanctions, SU was so distraught over the lack of scholarships that Boeheim took on two traditional transfers, three pointless projects, and kept a center whose knees were so bad he played in 81 games over 5 seasons.
I can’t believe people are still blaming sanctions to give the coach responsible a pass.
Because the unilateral assumption came from where again? Right, super fan, chicken riggies form spiked tree frogs. I'm just trying to tackle this at your iq level at this point.Good point about pb&j.
