Our starting point guard is a small forward. Our starting shooting guard might be the most average player to ever play 37 MPG in college basketball history. Our starting small forward is a shooting guard. Out starting power forward is indeed a power forward, but apparently wouldn't play if we had anyone else. Our starting center missed basically two years. Our back-up center is a stretch power forward, maybe even a small forward. Our only point guard plays the fewest minutes on the team as the seventh man.
 
Chalk some of that up to poor timing or bad luck, but there's a reason college basketball and recruiting is largely about projecting outwards multiple years. We have room to improve here. And no, it's not easy. But it's the way it is.
 
The reason we are even in consideration for the tournament is because, as obnoxious as he can be, Jim still knows a bit about basketball, and we do have some good players on our team. And let's be real, our three freshman have exceeded expectations, given how many freshman struggle with the transition from HS, and the issues with position scarcity around them.
