Reminder that Rutgers exists.

I've never got to air out my differences with Rutgirls on this board so bare with me, as I'm about to repeat what you already think or what has been said a million times on here already.

My only thought is,

Why does a School with a history of being Losers act like they are something special?

That is all

They had a good season nearly a decade ago. In their entire stay in the Big East, they once won a piece of the conference championship.

Once.

But...but...but...they played in the first college football game (1869). That HAS to count for something, right?

RIGHT?

If you tell yourself a lie over and over eventually you'll believe it.

Funny. I went to visit the family in NJ yesterday and that same banner was hanging off a parking garage near the train station in New Brunswick.

Wow what an underwhelming welcome to the Big Ten by this author. Monsters in his closet nibbling at his toes? And this article over the weekend talking about how Rutgers facilities are in bad shape, and they'll have to spend a lot on them to compete in the Big Ten.

I'm not sure I would equate Rutgers with Monster status, though I do believe they will forever be a nightmare to the B1G. "Why did we do this to ourselves?" says every B1G fan.

The shocking, and I mean shocking, thing to me is that Tom Luicci is now the spokesman for the athletic department. He spent years at the Star-Ledger covering, and often criticizing Rutgers 'sports'. I must have missed it. It has to be killing him to be trying to spin and put lipstick on this pig.

Yeah, more like bedbugs. Hard to get rid of the bloodsuckers once they are in. ;)

Cheers,

It's pretty funny, that economics professor at Rutgers believes that even with the infusion of cash from the Big Ten , which he thinks is probably a little unrealistic, won't really help the university if they continue spending like they want to. Rutgers is going to go in the toilet, especially if Big Ten revenues are not what the projections are; and I don't believe they will be.

Hey, don't knock that achievement. Only three other teams can make that claim.

During that same season.

RIGHT?

And they had that legendary season that ended with beating the 8th best team from the big twelve in the texas bowl.
