Repeal the NCAA Ticket Tax Break, how do you feel about that?

It's not really the actual cost of the ticket that is tax deductible, but the add-on donation required to purchase the ticket, in this case at least. It's the same thing if you go to a fundraiser that costs $1,000 a ticket. Depending on the actual fee portion of that ticket, you could be looking at 80% of that cost being tax deductible. Is he suggesting the government repeals that as well?

It really shouldn't be considered just a "Ticket Tax Break". These are basically donations to the athletics department. If you make a donation at a certain level you are eligible to purchase season tickets corresponding to that level of donation. To remove this tax deduction they would need to discontinue tax deductions for all athletics donations. Anything else and the athletics departments would simply restructure the donation scheme.
