Replays and some officiating calls

Was anyone else concerned there were a few plays that should have been reviewed but weren't? The first was TD's first pass, it sure looked like that could have been a touchdown. Also in 3rd quarter where Trill (believe it was him) stripped ND QB. Close if he was still in bounce or not.

Now some of the officiating calls. The PI where the big ND WR pushed our DB out of the way for a catch. Also the horrid PI on the ball was way over the ND's WR;s head, also like announcers said, they were both grabbing/holding. Also looked like Ravian got held on the the pass in the end zone and no call.

Know all these probably wouldn't have affected the outcome but sure seemed at times SU was fight uphill battle and ND didn't need the ref's help. Maybe they were all Catholic.

I personally don’t think it’s a catch, but I’ve seen the Johnson play called a catch.

The Trill non-review was criminal.

Refs aren’t the reason we lost but they were so blatantly one sided that I wouldn’t be surprised if they had envelopes in their lockers after the game.

I also enjoyed the random late flags after the outcome was settled for an already negative ND play as a “see, we’re calling stuff on them too” CYA

They weren't the sole reason Syracuse lost today, but they played a bigger role than they should have. Notre Dame scored multiple times on missed or blown calls. The strip was made before Book was out of bounds. There was a pass interference called on a ball that could not be caught. The pass from Devito to Johnson should have been a pass interference. Nykeim's arm was grabbed preventing him from grabbing it cleanly. They also blew an OPI. Even the Notre Dame fans in my section said that they got away with a blatant pushoff.

I may be wrong but I don’t remember any play reviews during the game. Seems strange to me having attended all home games, watched away games and game stoppage to review was fairly frequently. The better team won but I hoped we would look better.

There was one on the laughable fumble call on TD. That was just too egregious to ignore.

Notre Dame needed a big win with all the 1 loss conference teams trying to get that last playoff spot. If Georgia gets a close win against Alabama, it's going to come down to win differential style points. So...

it was a lopside game, aide by a handful of just awful calls. we also cant drop 2 tds and give away an INT in a game we are playing in the deep end. still the first ND tsd never happens in the OPI is called and that was blatant, one other score never happens if the play is reviewed. we lose 26 to maybe 14 and still get vastly outplayed most of the game.

ND was the better team. They didn't need - and certainly didn't deserve - the one-sided officiating. I counted about half a dozen plays that could have made it a closer game. There were 2 OPI on ND - not called. Big, obvious pushoffs. The call on Fredrick was out of the blue - there was contact but it wasn't any different than ND CB's that were granted a "letem play" standard all game. And the ball was 3-4 feet over the receivers head. Ridiculous.

Then there was an apparent fumble by a ND WR in the middle of the field. Caught it and had it stripped. Fumble recovered by SU. No call and no review.

Then there was the Trill/Book strip. Took it, and possessed it inbounds. No doubt. On camera. No call. No review. Wow.

The DPI by ND in the endzone. The guy had NJ's R arm pinned before the ball arrived. No call.

We wouldn't have beaten ND yesterday. Too good. Too experienced, big, strong, fast, well-coached etc. A very good team. Hats off to them. They didn't need the horrible officiating to win.

Don’t we ask for the replay? Whoever has that responsibility for us dropped the ball on the Trill play. I was beside myself.

The ND WR never had possession on that play. Ball was moving around the whole time.

Yes, the lack of OPI on them vs us getting called for much less egregious ones was irksome.

There were several holding calls that should have been made on ND’s O-line, including one with a full handful of jersey, stretching it out, that was about the most obvious hold possible, that didn’t get called.
Book was a lot more mobile and evasive than I would have expected, but it was aided and abetted by all the holding calls that were NOT being made.

Even if all the calls were made correctly, we probably don’t win this game without Dungey.
But it woulda been a lot more competitive.

Me too wasn’t positive about his foot wether it was touching when it was out of bounds but at least look at it

Agree with what y'all said. The ND DL ate the SU OL for dinner as well. It reminded me a bit of the Middle Tennessee game with all the blitzing...hmm.

Agree. They missed a lot of things but the ND WR "fumble" wasn't questionable. He never had possession.

i'm not blaming the officiating by any means but i have never seen a crew so reluctant to review some very close calls. when the ball comes out crossing the plane it usually at least gets a second look. instead they line up immediately for the pat. proper call but...

I have said this many times and will say it again. ACC Football Officials are beyond horrible. Yesterday's crew in the Bronx was terrible.

The officiating was in no means we lost the game, but just like the rest of the season, it was again incredibly poor yesterday. There are plays happening right in front of their eyes and they either miss or don't make the call. It's really really bad.
