Report from East Rutherford

Happen to be staying at the team hotel. Wearing Orange (of course) in the lobby drinking a nice glass of pinot and Dr. Gross stopped to say hello and thank us for supporting the program. Never met him before but he spent a good 15 minutes chatting with us. So cool! Also had nice discussions with Herm Frazier and Jason Poles. Consensus is we're ready to shock the world tomorrow.

Are you telling us that you didn't pin Gross to the bar and demand answers about why we are playing in NYC and why he's paying the women's lax coach so much money.

We are entitled to answers, what's that matter with you?

If they won't impact home games then we can expect 7 Dome games some years.

Here we go.

How many times has SU played 7 home games. Once? Twice?

Now we're going to complain about the missed chance to draw 50K for Rutgers and UConn?

I did not, but Herm Frazier brought it up without asking. Said that the money we get from the deal was a godsend but also noted that it was a big plus to the ACC reinforcing our NY's college team branding. He also intimated that we may be looking at a Yankee Stadium deal rotating games with UConn, Army, and Rutgers. Obviously not in the same years as MetLife and they would not impact the number of home games in Syracuse.

Yankee Stadium in November. :)

So. do I have this right?
  • 205 nothing scheduled
  • 2016 vs ND at MetLife
  • 2017 maybe YS
  • 2018 maybe YS
  • 2019 2038 - we have 10 game 20 year deal with MetLife starting in 2019 (game very other year)
  • potential deal with Yankee Stadium presumably in years that we don't play in MetLife
2015 OOC schedule is completed. Rhode Island(9/4 or 5), CMU(9/19), LSU(9/26),@ USF(10/10). Id expect no Yankee Stadium game in 2017 since we already have 1 OOC away game scheduled that year.

Yes we have and many teams do, especially the better teams. I suppose we were suppose to enjoy the 5 game home schedules?

I'm not the one that just said these games won't impact the home games. So I expect 6 every year and 7 some years.

Then YS might start in 2018. I like Yankee Stadium games.

I don't think it's humanly possible to top the experience I had at the 2012 Pinstripe Bowl in the snow. That game was far and away one of the best sporting experiences I have ever had.

Let's just take the top 6 recruits in the country, and move ALL of our home games to the closest NFL stadiums to each of these 6 players hometowns! NO home games! Gotta get those recruits! NFL stadiums! We'll get the 6 best players in the country every year! Can't miss!

Since I'm now 8 hours from the dome and can't really make home games any more, if it actually guaranteed us the top 6 recruits across the country every single year, I'd be down. We be winning a crap ton of games and in the hunt for ACC and National titles in no time.

I'm in the parking lot tailgating and it's 90/10 notre dame fans. SU better show up.

Just leaving Fort Lee now...

It's a Chamber of Commerce day today ... 84 degrees, cooling to mid 60's tonight.

Had the opportunity to meet TGD a couple years ago in the Orange Club. A friend of mine is related to him so he set it up. But the guy literally spent at least an hour pre game and post game (BB) chatting and having a beer. I was amazed at how an AD would spend that much time with a simple fan. Was a fan even before that experience, but even more a fan of him after that. Glad you got a chance to meet him, he really is a good guy.
